The Official Smashing Pumpkins/Billy Corgan Thread

If you're taking this literally then you only have to be next to someone to piss on them. But yes, I agree that The Pixies started it, even though I don't like all of their ****...

Damn....They are all so good....(Zwan not so much) A few Favs are, The live Areo Plane Flies High, An Ode to No one, Disarm, Try Try Try, (Cherub Rock and Nearly all of S-Dream) , Heavy Metal Machine....so many more ~

I just consider it one of the weaker tracks on the album. But I don't really hate any songs off of Mellon in particular. IMO it's the best double album ever made.

Not only do I love this album, after Melon Collie, it would be my next choice for best double album ever made.

General opinion can go f*ck itself.

i like this the pumkins alot, didnt really get into them right at the start whent hey first came out but once i listen to their songs i really started to get into them and still like them now.

I agree completely. Although I loved the album from the start. I'd say my favorite song on it is Neverlost. The drums are so simple but tricky it's cool to listen to.

I'd have to back that one up too... going from Siamese Dream to Adore or even Machina would be too much of a culture shock... the latter two are oft considered more for the purist...

That's why I am not overly fussed by ther lack of Iha and D'arcy on the new Pumpkins' recordings... I have no idea how the band is affected live because I never had the pleasure of seeing them, but as far as the albums go, it's status normal to hear only Jimmy and Billy doing everything...

I'm still very indifferent about Jimmy not being in the band anymore. The new drummer is good but he just sounRAB like another regular drummer, his style doesn't have any character compared to what Jimmy could do. I was lucky to see them over 2 years ago with Jimmy on drums and he was incredible, he really made the show for me.

As regarRAB the new songs (i've only downloaded 4 so far, have any more been released?) they are ok, not bad but not great either. If Billy has released the songs under his own name people would take them more seriously i think.

No offence, but what is it exactly about those tracks that made you post their titles (seemingly) at random here... just curious / probably stupid or missing something in the head tonight...

I've been listening to Adore so much lately. It's probably my favorite Smashing Pumpkins album. That or Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. I don't care, I think both are brilliant.

Mosts artists have always only been good for one song. Out of the millions of albums released in the last 50 years, Id say 5% are even worth listening to. And out of the millions of banRAB, Id say 50% have one good song, and a much smaller amount have a decent album.

I've always believed that the path that music has taken over the last 50 years is to show that anyone is capable of writing at least one good song.

Not to dismiss albums...its just that I have a deep appreciation for anyone who can keep my attention for that long...that takes real talent.
