The Official Smashing Pumpkins/Billy Corgan Thread

I guess they don't bother me because I'm a fan of electronic music, and I think it worked well for those songs. I like the dark gothic feel of it, even though it's drastically different from their previous albums. I really love the song "Eye" from the Lost Highway soundtrack that came out before Adore, and it really set the stage for what was to come.

Half of Zeitgeist was terrible, infact it was really good first half, the middle sucked and the ending was terrible. Except Neverlost which I believe was in the middle, that was a really good song. United States is stupid on all levels and it's sad for Billy to rely on Charaberlin so much.

He played D'Arcy's bass lines aswell on the first few albums along with all the guitar parts because he wanted to achieve a certain degree of consistancy. Basically around 80-90% of what you hear on the early SP albums is just Billy and Jimmy.

This reminRAB me of when CRAB would include a bonus track not available on the LPs back in the late 80s and early 90s. Total and utter ****e. Basically, you should buy none of them.

They're releasing it in the form of 11 4 track EPs apparently. They're being released physically as well if you want cd sound quality, which will obviously cost money. According to Billy their sound is gonna be old school Pumpkins meets the future.

Here's the full article on their website:

I still don't understand what on earth the album title 'Teargarden by Kaleidyscope' is supposed to mean

in Asheville, NC, tickets go on sale tonight at 7pm Eastern Time via Ticketmaster.com. They're playing nine nights (June 23, 24, 26, 27, 29, 30, July 2, 3, 5) at The Orange Peel, which is a cool club.

Wow, you like this album? You are probably the only other person on Earth I know that listens to this album, then. I couldn't get into it until I was a hardcore Yes fan. Though, I'm not sure of its general opinion on this forum.

Billy played a lot of the parts on the first album, which did cause a bit of tension within the band of course. But yeah Iha was more involved later on.

I'm a bit of a fan of Iha, Blew Away is prob the standout track on Pisces Iscariot and Take Me Down on Mellon Collie isn't too bad either. His solo stuff is fairly good.
