That doesn't mean they are talented. By that logic, I can buy a drumset without any training, but smash away with great passion, does that make me talented?

I saw Slipknot in the summer of 01' when they were on second stage at ozzfest...I like them a lot them...grown to not be so into them. But they put on a kick a*ss show!
 
Amy Lee how old are you because unless that so-called "wit" was sarcastic its very rehashed and been around for a while.

How can people say that Slipknot is "THE BEST BAND EVER!"? they have done nothing original ever. They weren't the first to even wear mask. Mushroomhead did that before them. Face it, shock rock with lyrics that just plain blow. Joey Jordanson is very talented at the frums although he uses a cheater pedal live and the lead guitarist isn't bad. And I have given them a chance even their new stuff. Conclusion = Bad
 
The lead singer is nothing special at all. He has no presence or even anything approaching a good or distinctive voice. He is simply shouting himself hoarse over the infernal din played out by the "guitarists" behind him. As you said the drummer is a talented guy, who really ought to be getting a decent gig with another band, and the rest of them? Meh.

I also found it amusing how they said their last album would be their final album, then said that this one would be their final album, and I'm sure they'll follow the same pattern for the next two or three.
 
yeah im not exactly sure what craig does.
i think he controls everything that goes on in the live shows, like volume, effects and stuff like that. I THINK!... well guessing.

but still, they are great!
 
i used to think that Slipknot was just another screwed up band. then i learned something amazing about them... Slipknot's beauty is in their chaos. Wait and Bleed, Duality, and Pulse of the Maggots are there top 3 best songs. Craig is an idiot, Joey is the coolest.

YEah, they can't really change their style to something more productive and creative because they've stuck with nu-metal for so long. I mean, how do you think people would react if hell froze over and they started playing something more extreme like death metal? How would they fit their old material in with that for live performances, compilation cd's, and so on?

I do think it's never too late to take off their masks. They've already been seen without them (I think all of them), so what's the point? What WAS the point in the beginning other than getting attention?!
