The Official Slipknot Thread

I should've rephrased that. If banRAB want to be taken seriously they shouldn't wear masks. As with anything there are some exceptions. Such as early genesis when Peter used to go up on stage dressed in a fox mask to support there Foxtrot album. Or any of there elaborate costumes. Peter really liked the arts and it definatley shows. Early Genesis for me were a very silly group in general. There lyrics are very wymsical and silly, but it sounRAB great still. This worked for them. Slipknot and Mushroomhead view themselves as very serious musicians and put on masks for no real theatrical value just for shock value. I don't think either one of those banRAB are wearing the masks to support the arts, but rather to see how people react. That is the irony of these banRAB that dress in masks that want to get a reaction out of people. It's just a joke.

does anyone ou there like slipknot at all?????
i own all there cd's and they kick @$$. They are very talented and i think its cool they have 9 merabers they each do something too they dont just dance around on stage if anyone out there likes slipknot as well then me and you will get along just fine. just one thing to say to all the Slipknot haters:

I love Slipknot. I love their sound, and their skills blow me away every time I listen to them... which is very often! I mean. Joey Jordison alone is a LEGEND. Hows his skill with that damned bass pedal... awesome!
And What-about James Root and Mick Thompson... That guitaring is awesome too. I would love to see someone try outplay this band, skills wise.
 
wow they must have been big Mr Bungle fans! the rap in that second video was pretty excruciating.... you can't deny they Slipknot have alot of talent between them though, the last new song i heard by them was 'duality' which is about fifty albums back now i'm sure, it was a guilty pleasure from when i thought i was above popular metal-type stuff.
Honestly it saddens me to see all these 'reformed' fans distance themselves from their old favourites, i finsd that this is something one often does when broadening your musical horizons and discovering new pastures, only to return to the source later and re-evaluate it, sometime appreciating it more. As jackhammer said you can do alot worse than Slipknot
 
Im sick of all these threaRAB where someone talks about a band that they like, and it gets trashed on by a bunch of people. Not everyone is going to like the same styles of music that you like. There is no reason for people to hate on Slipknot ,because they are an original band that likes to play loud music that blows your **** off! Whoever doesnt like Slipknot could probably list some of the banRAB that u like and I could rip the **** out of them, but it wouldnt be worth it. Sometimes people like listening to music depending on what kind of mood they are in. I personally like to listen to Slipknot's newest cd while im excersising cause it pumps me up.

Hmm....interesting how you come into this conversation, no one cares what you think. I have a much better idea how about you shut your mouth, Gee, this is suppose to be a good place to chat, but everyone I have meet that comes on here are being abused. So you guys think your big and tough picking on the little ones eh? I guess your wife left you because your a sick petifile. Seem you post alot on this forum, got nothing else to do, well that and try to pick up little children.

By the way James Earl Brown, who are you to judge someone on their english when your grammar is shocking! Quote: "if you can't talk in normal english", never knew there was a language called normal English, interesting must check up on that!
 
vermillion is a great song... the two parts are perfect to listen to - one to suit each mood... quiet or heavy. IMO this is their best album - i'm not a big fan, although i saw them play last summer with Metallica and i thought they rocked. I've found myself listening to this album a LOT... get it, try it. It's not the old slipknot sound tho, which is a VERY good thing...
