The Official Rage Against The Machine thread

No but saying crap about a band on their own thread and insulting anyone that disagrees with you is.

The solo in Settle for Nothing, listen to it and tell me that.

Oh I geert it, hez a bad geetarist cuz he dur makes sounRAB dat aint supposered to com out of a geetar, ughhhh

Funny, thats what I thought a good guitarist was. Not just some muso who wanks his f*cking ass off.

I like them more for the music and the energy of their performances and the conviction of La Rochas vocals, I respect their political views but I don't always agree with them, particularly their leanings toward Marxism.

And I think Morello gave a pretty reasonable justification for them being signed to sony. I mean if you want people to hear your message then why not use the biggest platform you can find?

And even if its about money I don't really care, everyone wants money.

Well, there is a Nirvana thread, so why not have a thread for a band that stayed true to the end? Just post anything pertaining to RATM and its merabers so I guess that includes Audioslave

A big part of being a musician is creating sound. What Morello did was unheard of when it comes to guitar. He did things with the guitar that most people didn't even think to do, and he did it effectively. He wasn't necessarily good at playing technical pieces, but he was good at crafting songs via unconventional means using his guitar. It may have not been technical in the sense of actual playing, but it was innovative.

I don't even like RATM and I am capable of recognizing this.

goth babe i disagree, i thort musically audioslave are as good or at least almost as good as rage. Chris Cornell has a totally different style of voice though and its alot less agressive and alot calmer. Chris has a hugely powerful voice but i guess whatever you think about the band it is all up to personal opinion. I agree that rage against the machine piss all over audioslave but both are good. "F**K U I WONT DO WHAT U TELL ME!"

i'm just bored

i called you an idiot based on your smart ass response to my comment about pop music being something created for a specific teenage demographic. i figured one smart ass comment deserved another one. your 'proof' by showing how music has been marketed in north america over the last 50 years definitely accounts for 90% of the music in existence today...

I think Tom Morello is an overrated guitarist, but he's still good IMO.

And the fact that a band greatly appeals to a particular demographic doesn't mean that they intended to make their music for that particular dmeographic.

I don't see how that kind of "do what I'm telling you to do" message makes them contrived... it just means they have strong opinions. I can see how it might be annoying though.

good music but they were hypocrites. All that music against corrupt people with money etc then they over-charge tickets for their shows. Still, i downloaded the albums so everybody wins :D

I Like Battle Of Los Angeles but I also think that their S/T had a lot of good stuff on it.

Live at The Garnd Olympic Auditorium was probably the most disappointing purchase I made that year. It just didn't live up to anywhere my expectations.

Good Band though.
