The Official Oasis Thread

Is it just me or does Morning Glory sound kinda sludgey production wise too? Was that intentional, maybe? That being said there were times when I found the album's sound a bit too murky for my liking....

i love that, of course, what Oasis fan doesn't but I don't put it in my top faves. There are a lot of other songs that I like better. Wonderwall, to me is kinda generic. In my parts, it's the only friggin' song anyone knows. I like to pimp Oasis on more than Wonderwall but it is a good song ;)

Wow. This is harder than I thought. When i think about it, there's so many Oasis songs that I like. I've narrowed it down to five (not in any order):

Wonderwall;
Don't Look Back In Anger;
Champagne Supernova;
Around the World;
Little by Little;

There you go. My five fave Oasis songs...

Inevitability is a bitch. The fact they rolled out like 5 albums after Be Here Now is testament to how much they did it for the fans more than anything, they've largely only acknowledged each other on tours since that era.

Oh, by the way, the money as well obviously, but Noel will still be to draw pretty damn well on his own, Liam and the others, if he's retarded enough to continue Oasis, will do ok for a bit, but it'll fail. He's the one that needed Oasis more.

exactly and then the US big ones came in and took over and that is how grannies in Kansas became aware of a music called punk!!!!
They forced their way into the conscious minRAB of the world because the US record companies thought "we could make cash from this"
EXACTLY!!
virgin branson's label from the UK pushed a band and once they got enough publicity the US big wigs got in on the act and that is why we now have punk rock genre and why it still exists.
CBS then signed the Clash and all rolled from there.
Sorry this is the wrong place but it got going here.
See my point?
would the Ramones (whom I love) have persisted if that had not happened or would any of them?
That was an act of genius wasn't it my learned frienRAB?
EMI signed them and then it all took off around the world. What would have become of it had it not been for the pistols? At least they split as punk and didn't then go into whatever was the next fashion Madonna style.
Jesus created world Christianity while religion always existed and the pistols cretaed punk while music always existed.
But Jesus did it through the Romans who had the money to build churches and the pistols did it through record compaines who had money to market their stuff.
I need a kip!!!

Oasis is a very good band, but most of their songs sound very much alike. I wish they would experiment a little more with their music and create some new sounRAB.

Definitely Maybe and What's The Story are both great albums, but everything after that with the exception of some singles is crap, IMO. Being *******s in the press doesn't exactly promote their music, either.

Oasis' most memorable music was made a very long time ago though.... on their first two albums.... we're talking a minimum of 15 years ago... I kinda hoped that one day the Gallaghers would again produce memorable music.... alas, if they remain split, it cannot be...
