The Official Oasis Thread

Agreed Oasis have never and if they get back together will never make another Definitely Maybe. Definitely Maybe was about being young, being in a band, touring and getting out of Manchester, taking drugs and living the lifestyle they wanted to live back then and for those reasons Noel himself has said he can't write another one of those anymore and if he tried it would be fake and probably piss poor.

I would like to see them make something that was arguably just as good but off in a completely other direction. SOTSOG had that potential but it just never really made the cut in that sense. They erabraced maturing, getting older and flirted with a change of direction to some degree but the quality was never there when compared to the debut.

I still hope Noel tempts Gem away from Oasis and they do another acoustic or semi acoustic tour. I never got to see them on that tour but I got as many as those bootlegs as I could find - for me they just breathed new life into so many Oasis tunes that had been played to death on the road over the years. It was really beautiful stuff.

hmmm...this is a toughie...i'd have to say...love like a borab...new yes...but still pretty good...if that doesn't count..then i guess, married with children

No worries CP, I always think twice about trying to argue a point on a forum aswell. Nothing makes you feel quite so pathetic as getting into a protracted argument about some obscure band with a stranger. At 1 in the morning. When you have work in 5 hours. urgh. Good vibes all round then xx

I could see this coming but it's a terrible idea. It's not a complete lost cause like it would have been 10 years ago but it's still a bad idea. Even though Liam has been writing tunes for the last few years as well as Andy Bell and Gem both being songwriters I just don't think Oasis can continue without both Noel and Liam.

The Greatest Songs Ever! Live Forever
Mick Jagger was an overrated blowhard. Kurt Cobain was a rich whiner. Or so thought an unknown Mancunian named Noel Gallagher.
