The Official Nirvana/Kurt Cobain Thread

I don't think Nirvana is punk, I don't know the history of grunge nor do I care, and Jadie seems to be pretty hellbent on convincing everyone its not a real genre which I guess is understandable a little unreasonable in my opinion but understandable, I have tried convincing people that "alternative" isn't a genre and there is a good bit of controversy but I will save that of another thread, meanwhile I will just say
Nirvana is not punk, if anything they are "Indie rock" with a flair of punk..

ummm i don't know if you're joking guys but you got his last worRAB completly wrong! he said "it's better to burn out than fade away"! not the other way round. Different meanings people.
just thought i'd point that out

I was a fan of Nirvana for awhile, after Kurts death, it didnt bother me much except to not expect anymore music from them :(, As of now, I like them the same, but sometimes I still hear them too often and it becomes annoying. As for Alice In Chains, there not bad, but not what im into.

You simply do not care for Alice In Chains 'banonbush'. And that is your right! Like everyone else, You have your favorite styles of music that you like, & prefer to listen to. As for not respecting the opinions of others, That is your right to free speech. As for myself, I feel no need to impress anyone! (Just a thought)? To reflect on... I am a big fan of A.I.Cs., & the 90s Seattle movement. Nirvana has earned & has they're place in musical history. PEACE.

ATTENTION KEMPSON

We need guitarists like cobain because if every guitarist played like effin hendrix how could anyone learn to play at all? No one could cover their favorite band because no one could be that skilled at guitar dont be an idiot.

yeah. I know, but I think he was murdered. A lot of people I know say he was, but then a lot say he killed himself. So i really don't know, i wasn't there.lol. RIP  Kurt.

In the future, don't make bets on post count, deleted posts reduce it, and as you can see here, you look stupid in the end.

so dave grohl is gonna say "yeah im a bad musician?" what musician thinks they are bad? if they did, and had no faith in their own musical abilities, then why want to be a musician? and what do you mean by "the ramones were doing the bad music thing?" what bad music thing?

i suppose people like nevermind the best cause its got the pop sheen in the production and the big hit in the form of smells like teen spirit

i prefer bleach incesticide and in utero over nevermind by far
not to mention the banRAB whole worth seems to get put down to nevermind so often, and they had much more to offer

hey your posting again?

i like that this thread was made and that boo boo and bill never showed up so that the little bit of debating started and ended fast and without fighting.

if you feel that way about nirvana, then why the **** would you go onto a thread about nirvanas best song? do us all a favor and dont do **** like this anymore

If you think a band loses credibility because they joined a major label, you are clearly an idiot.

The whole misconcept that banRAB who stick to indie labels care more about music than people who don't is complete garbage, in fact its rather the opposite, if you do care about your music, and you want to share it with people, signing on to a major label would be helluva lot easier, sure theres the topic of creative controll and record companies that will try to suck you out of it, which is why its very wise to be decisive about the company you join, Nirvana and Pearl Jam clearly knew this.

Overall, like I said, if you think a banRAB label determines their musical quality or their overall credibility as a band, not only are you a complete moron but you also deserve to die... Modest Mouse for example, are equally horrible no matter what their record label is.
