Besides. If being a multi-instrumentalist makes you more talented. You should know that I play bass, keyboard, banjo, guitar (including slide guitar), harmonica and lap harp. And more recently I've been learning to play drums and recorder.

Coner Oberst only plays guitar and keyboarRAB. Hmm. ;)
 
He couldn't afford an amp with distortion:p: Notice in the chorus you could only hear the drums? I don't think he was playing it right either, he had the verse but it sounded bad.

Nirvana....possibly the most overrated band ever, next to gc and the white stripes of course. Worshipped by so many, but for what reason? Because Cobain was an emo kid? Try dinosaur JR or the pixies, DJ being pre-nirvana, and so much better!
 
From what I understand, hes already got the FBI and Dept of Homeland Security involved, id recommend getting the hell out of there with a quickness...

If someone thinks Nirvana are better than The Melvins, thats pretty much their personal opinion, same goes for someone who believes vice versa, but being abrasive about it either way makes that band look bad, it makes people think "are all Melvins fans f*cking assh*les like these guys?", it dosen't help anything, it dosen't prove your point and it just makes you all look like douchebags, not that personal opinions can't be completely biased, and in this case Raine is likely very biased, but it's still her opinion.
 
If by real you mean not having strict rules for what makes a band indie sure. I've always looked at is other. A lot times it's just varients on other genres such as grunge emo folk post-punk or whatever. But, a lot of times it's just well this doesn't really go with anything else and there really aren't enough banRAB that sound like this so you're just indie.

Edit: As much of a joke genre as pop? Sure. Seeing how it's pretty the same thing just opposite. If you hear a song can't you tell if it's a pop song or not? I can. So to me indie works the same way. There's nothing strict but it is a definite thing.
