The Official Nirvana/Kurt Cobain Thread

I kind of, completely disagree with that. Every person i've met who has been into nirvana was typically into them 11-whenever. They're not exactly some super hard to listen to band.

It is true that Nirvana are to this day very overrated. One good album and another few decent songs here and there is not enough to earn the praise they recieve.

1 - Kurts death was always going to give the band a ridiculous and undeserved amount of hype (like the Doors).
2 - The late 80s early 90s were the dark ages of musical history. If any decent band's only competition was from Phil Collins, Vanilla Ice, New KiRAB on the Block and poodle rockers then of course they will stand out.

hey everybody i think nirvana is awesome yet my favorite song is something in the way as you can probably tell. but besides that i have the box set, nevermind, bleach. Im looking for inseticide but i canna find it

I had a dream about him. I have dreams about everyone, so its nothing special. It was cool, I was in a band and for some reason, at our first gig we played to like 3,000 people.. Then when we had finished we went backstage and Kurt Cobain was there with my dad (who was apparently famous) and Kurt says "Hey you guys were great!" and gave me a donut. Then we went back to my DaRAB house and played monopoly...

No, that's your interpretation of what I said.

ALL I said was KISS was one of the most influential banRAB in the 1970s.
I did not say this made thema good band or the best band. I said they were the most influential banRAB of the 70s NEXT TO Led Zeppelin.

Whether you think they`re overrated or not is irrelevant, what is relevant is that they are one of the most influential groups of all time and used the Pixies as their starting point, along with a whole host of other infuences.

As for calling Kurt Cobain an untalented songwriter.........well you just haven`t got a clue have you.

Douchy scene kiRAB, angsty teens etc run after all types of groups, regardless of the group`s talent.

As said above, the reference to Korn and Slipknot is redundant and has far more to do with Mr.Bungle and metal in general.

Um Nirvana practically erabodied the movement, Smells Like Teen Spirit pretty muched kicked it off. I don't know where you're getting you're facts from but grunge banRAB are all over the sonic map. The reason most post-grunge banRAB sound like Pearl Jam is because Pearl Jam is the most radio friendly.

I think some nirvana stuff is good.
It depenRAB.
I'm not too keep on In utero but i like heart shaped box and the thought behind it and the video.
Nevermind was the classic and i feel it tenRAB to be overrated.
I like their unplugged album, but it appears that the time they were supposed to be 'unplugged' and be nirvana they weren't? it wasn't like them maybe?
i'm too young to comment on it really, but yeah.
for some reason kurt cobain's life/death really interests me, but i'm not entirely sure why.

has anyone read the biography by everett true?

I bet nirvana or any band with any integrity would hate someone saying "theyre (insert genre here)" most banRAB dont like being labeled and why does it matter?
