Or how much the media like to spin things out of proportion, either way.
That being said, I love Nirvana and think they did wonders, but still.. To say that..
 
The production for one thing, it lacks the glossy sound of Nevermind, it's much more lo-fi... Less bass, more guitar, more fuzz and feedback, and a much more agressive and noise oriented sound than Nevermind... The lyrics are better as well.

Cobain thought Nevermind came out too well produced, and that he wanted to revive a more primitive sound similar to what he achieved with Bleach.

And i would say that most of the album isn't listener friendly, at least not most of the tracks aside from the singles.

Also indie banRAB can get radio play too, Float On is a big mainstream radio hit.

I meant a link or a direct quote or something of that nature, I could say Kurt Cobain was murdered by Dave Grohl then name a book that may not have even said it. Would that make me right?
 
This is really going nowhere.

The Melvins had Kurt Cobain co-produce an album for them, which alone signifies that they may have been going for a sound not too much unlike what Nirvana were doing.

That probably dosen't outright qualify as musical influence (probably not) but it counts as something at least.

But yeah. T'be honest, a lot of music isnt going to appeal to every age group there is, so why not just enjoy it while you can. Grrr. I really dont like that kid..
 
The strech between a guitar and a mellotron is pretty big. But it did prove your point that anyone can play anything without any knowledge about it. Now if they can play it well is the question.
