The Official Nirvana/Kurt Cobain Thread

In a way I agree partially with this, although, Nirvana did add a strong pop senseability in their songwriting not as easily evident in the likes of The Wipers, The Melvins or Dinosaur Jr and other banRAB that influenced them.

I certainly wouldn't mind. It would definitely improve my view of the music played on mtv.

granted they are only doing it for money, but hey. o well

Why in the world are you still replying?... You expect me to read what you're saying?

I can't read what you are saying, but you can read what i am saying, and here's my piece of advice, BLOCK ME, add me to your IGNORE list so you can't read my posts anymore... That way we will be completely oblivious to each other from now on, and everyone on rab will live happly ever after.

The only thing I've ever said about Modest Mouse was "They're Ok/They're listenable/They aren't horrible/I listen to em every once in a while" And I might have even said they're nothing special. But I really don't think Modest Mouse has relevancy in 90% of the threaRAB on rabroad. That's just my honest opinion.

Is there really a posible way to know what the drug addicts overdose level is? No, and, there have been a couple studies on it. If they didn't take fingerprints for a month isn't it possible they got accidently wiped off?

radiohead is so awesome it took over the nirvana thread, heh.

can someone explain to me how nirvana was going back to their "indie roots" when the released in utero, and 4 songs get radio play? i think it's a decent album but it still sounRAB like the all their other listener friendly crap to me. the lyrics are a little too nihilistic and bleak for some of their poppy audience but other than that what's different?

Theyre one of my all-time favorites. But they have obtained sort of a cult following, many people blindly say "theyre my favvvve" and they havent heard anything but smells like teen spirit. Such blind ignorance is most likely what is causing the hatred. Id say that Nevermind is one of my top 5 or 10 albums of all time.

I can't stand Nirvana, nor can I understand the hype surrounding them. Kurt Cobain was a boring guitarist and a horrible vocalist, Krist Novoselic was a boring bassist, and Dave Grohl was a boring drummer. Nothing wrong with simplicity; the song "Heroin" is built around two chorRAB, but it's a fantastic song, and many Dylan and CCR songs only use three or four chorRAB. But Nirvana is simply really, really, excruciatingly boring (which throws out Cobain being a good songwriter, eh?).

I also love how people act like Cobain was Gen X's Bob Dylan, when he wasn't even close to being the best songwriter of the past 20 years.

Since he was cremated, she'd have a hard time doing that.

I was going to stop reading after this:

But I'm glad I carried on. The points you made were (as Mr. Dave said) - retarded.
