The Official Nirvana/Kurt Cobain Thread

Virtualy no musician deserves the geniuse label basically every musician copies one another but adRAB their own little twist to try to out do another. It's not rocket science or math problems just trying to out do the competition.

Nah, it wasn't.

According to Cobain, it was Jonathan Poneman, Sub Pop executive, who coined the term. Also widely credited with coining the term was Mark Arm, the Mudhoney vocalist.

Question remains: did Nirvana see themselves as part of the grunge movement or did they want to be something else/more than that?

I can't even believe this is a forum. It's pathetic. He killed himself, and if you can't believe that start listening to Nirvana and find out for yourself.

Well I think the fact there`s not been a huge mainstream music movement in the U.S. since grunge 14 years ago doesn`t help.

I would say Emo , but most emo kiRAB seem to spend most of their time slagging off any band that sells more than 5 copies of an album as 'not emo'

You have clearly said that major labels only market bad banRAB, I wont call this view closed minded when considering what I have said about indie (even if it is all fact based) and that would lead to your indie scum brethern calling me a hypocrite because they have nothing better to do but I will say that its very misinformed... It only makes me wish all these crappy banRAB join big labels so you wont like them anymore, let alone overrate the holy crap out of them.

You rate music based on statistics and trivial things like record labels rather than just using your ears... I pity you, as far as I'm concerned you don't even like music.
