The Official Nirvana/Kurt Cobain Thread

I probably replied to this a year ago but oh well I'm bored:

Wow, Nirvana and best are in the same sentence, just when you thought that was impossible, whatd'ya know?

Translation: Nirvana suck and suck hard, someone tell me they don't and I'll explain why.

Even when banRAB like Nirvana or Pearl Jam were signed they didn't dress any different then when they weren't signed, they played little venues instead of big ones, they felt if like us great if you don't oh well. They weren't out to impress they were being themselves those are the roots I was talking about.

I like about 4-5 songs by Nirvana ..mainly the mainstream.I'm not mad about em..not really.I can't listen to a band that has only one theme, like being depressed and all.

ANYWAY
I prefer Alice In Chains of that genre

I just think Bleach is overrated for what it is.

If Nirvana had never hit it big Bleach would just have been another album by the crop of noise banRAB that were ten a penny on the indie scene around in the late 80s. When Nirvana made Bleach they were nothing special & after it was released it changed nothing. Swervedriver , Borab Everything , Silverfish or Creaming Jesus were just as good if not better than Nirvana at the time of Bleach`s release.

How do you define musical talent?... By technical skill or by good songwriting?... If technical skill is the only deciding factor in talent, that would make Slipknot more talented than The Beatles, even then, it dosent make them a better band, and it sure as hell dosent mean they make better music... And thats what its all about, good music, and good music is a subjective thing, theres nothing official or objective about it, and everyone has a different opinion of what makes good music... And the fact of the matter is, people like Nirvana because in their opinions they make good music, not because they are technical goRAB like Dream Theater.

And dont jump to conclusions, not every Nirvana fan is some immature kid who knows little about music and not everyone here is just some stupid kid who dosent even know the band that well... I own the banRAB entire discography and i have been a devoted fan for as long as i can remeraber, i have listened to almost every technical virtuoso band you can think of, and i still prefer Nirvana.

Thats the thing that annoys me, people critisize Nirvana for only sticking to a certain style, and they could be listening to god knows who... Van Halen, AC/DC, Tool, some punk band. A lot of banRAB stick to a certain sound, thats not always a bad thing, as long as its a good sound, and Nirvana had a good sound, if they didnt, they never would have been so successful.

Just my opinion, of course.
