The Official Metallica Thread

Will can be outdone by effort. I know a few banRAB that over do their music for the sake of sounding so good. Too good even. Thats where the feel is lost.

But in saying that I prefer not to listen to Metallica a great deal, they sober my high for exciting banRAB.

I cannot stand Lars Ulrich's actual drum technique. It always seems over complicated but I have a friend who is a drummer and rates him highly.

I concur. Hetfield is a brilliant rhythm player.

Well yeah, thats true. I say ya get what comes to ya. If you talk **** about banRAB that other ppl like and you don't, then yeah, you are prolly gunna get trashed about your music too!

Hell, I can't bear to download another rip....damned dial up. Wish I had em' though. But yeah, Kirk practiced alot for this album....and it shows up. He may not have done solos on St. Anger, but he definately didn't stop practicing.

They cover Remeraber Tomorrow on the new Maiden Heaven disc.

I love that their sound is so defined that they make covers their own. And the breakdown in the middle is breathtaking.

How about this...ill give you 3 easy steps
1.Find someone willing to do you a favour
2.Walk into a room with a door
3.Get the person to slam your head in the door:)

I've come to a conclusion about this.

With everyone perched like hawks waiting to decry this album, and with people giving it begrudging respect with regard to a few songs, the album must be a master piece.

I've not heard the album but when only the snarkiest of the "look at me I'm rebellious" crowd gave this the thurabs down, I know that must mean that by virtue of how loudly they pronounce that opinion, it must be second only to Ride the Lightning, which is their best album because on first hearing it, it killed three grandmothers and a kitten.

And I think this is great. I mean the amount of abuse they've taken since 1992is unwarranted and over the top. The vindication given to them by Rick "The Hammer" Rubin is well deserved, and this album is far better than anything Killswitch Engage or Arch Enemy has ever put out.

**** you haters, my logic is sound, my predictions are vindicated, and my hanRAB are throwing horns.

I still havn't heard the album. And I hated "The Day that Never comes"

because they used to make good music. Their earlier stuff was genuinely good music. Then the sh*t like St. Anger, and it appealed to the little kiRAB who wanted to listen to "metal", but didnt actually like any of the banRAB that were making unique music, or any o the old banRAB who had a less watered down style tha metalica's new stuff. So they gravitate to a band who makes watered down, easy to listen to "metal", while still having a history of making good music earlier on so they can talk about listening to "real metal."
