The Official Metallica Thread

Solos are unimportant?

They're one of the most important parts of a metal song in my opinion.
I wouldn't really class St Anger as a metal album.

i dont know, is it possible not to piss off alexisonfire? Seems to me that the first post he puts onto any new thread is quite negative, as is any replies to anyone elses posts. It gets old to see negativity so much out of him, i could throw up

 ^

I'll say this.

Metallica would have been complete with Mustaine, and he would have added greatly to the band over the years.

But...Mustaine is too big of an immature prick to have ever stayed in Metallica, much less maintain a good relationship with his own band. If Dave wasn't such an *******, we may have had even better songs from Metallica. But no matter. Dave has Megadeth, and he can still bitch about being kicked out of Metallica.....and Metallica will do what they've been doing the last 20 years, and continue to ignore him.

unfortunately, I don't think metallica will be the way they used to be, once the four hoursemen are three, the new guy will never make it metallica, I mean, st. Anger was another metallica.

i disagree.
metallica has alot of musical knowledge, or you could call it theory. every album has atlest 3 tracks worth listening to. some metalheaRAB dislike metallica because they can actually make so melodic, nice music. i enjoy that, being a metal head my self. just because everyhhing isnt thrashing and headbang-able doesnt mean its not good.

no... i really don't. i respect their works up to 1990, after that, uggh. load and reload were appropriate names though. just put "steaming" infront.

:usehead:

wtf is your problem??? metallica is an influence to many MANY banRAB 2day u ball licker if you think metallica sux or as u put it "they're a bunch of ass clowns" then who do you think aren't "ass clowns" they have great music w/ great lyrics and vocals anyone who thinks metallica sucks i'd really like to hear wut you think is great music..... :usehead:

Even if you're not into them, which I am, no one can deny that a band thats been around for as long as them cannot be s**t. If they where s**t they wouldn't still be around now. You don't sell as many albums as they have on past history, they sell because they can still cut it

I don't think they are even capable of sounding like they used to. They are too old now and as soon as James Hetfield got it in his head that he was a good vocalist (i.e. Turn The Page), it was all over. The orchestra was a nice change but I'll stick with their 80's stuff and enjoy the memories.

Agreed. So while there will never be a reunion with Burton, Newstead did great while he was in Metallica. Burton was only there shortly, due to that bus accident. Jason was key to alot of the songs, and I also agree about his backing vocals.
