The Official Metallica Thread

Agh! New Metallica neeRAB to stop right now. They changed so much. I love their old stuff. Old Metallica shows pure metal and pure talent. Now they just sound like a crappy nu-metal band.

I was reading an album review for St. Anger, and it got a .5 out of 10 and I dont think it even deserved that. I regret listening to that album. On their MTV Icon, they complimented their new album and hyped me up to go buy it. Now most of the world hates it.
 
Metallica shouldnt make a new album, St. Anger wasnt all that great, their early albums where good, but this sucked, chances are the next will suck too
 
Yeah, I saw them live during the summer, and they blew me away, best three hours of my life. They played a new song 'Berlin' i think it was called, it was much better than previous albums.
 
Nothing. Just wait, and when it's released, listen to it for what it is, not what you wanted it to be.
 
I've listened to The Day That Never Comes and Suicide&Redemption more than others. This album has some good songs but its definately different than their older stuff.

Holy crap , I LOVE METALLICA!! I so want them to come down under here at Australia soon!

(I disregarded their large cover catalouge since those aren't techinically their songs but if that was a seperate catagory: Breadfan, Am I Evil, Die Die my darling, Stone cold crazy, and so what)
 
i also heard rumours they split last year but i refuse to believe it untill god himself tells me, they will make a good album, if i have to force them at gunpoint lol
 
Last year there was this "new song" floating around on youtube that wasn't all that bad to be honest. Some of the riffing reminded me a bit of the Load album but the structure had a fairly progressive feeling and the solo was pretty decent.
 
I look forward to hearing the new album, just. judging by what others are saying about it.I wish Metallica had continued to follow the line of progression that they were on which they suddenly diverted from with the Black album. There was definitely a strong evolution of style and complexity going on that was severely preempted after ....And Justice for All.
