The Official Metallica Thread

I agree with most of that.
Saying Metallica would be better without James is....absurd, however.
James' vocals may not be as great as they used to be, but having anyone else sing for Metallica........I don't think I could bare to listen to it.

just like when Casey Calvert was found dead, that made hawthorne heights drop a little bit. well wait, im not sure if thats a good comparison. hmm.

well if James Hetfield leaves, maybe they will find someone better, when they release a new album it'll sound different. Of course, Dave Mustaine totally would have made them sound ten times better if he was still in the band.

Hey, it's Dave! Remeraber me? Yeah, I'm the guy that's been listening to your band faithfully since 1983. I bought your first album 'Kill 'Em All' from a mail order catalogue called Under The Rainbow, I think. Actually I can't remeraber. It was 1983 for Christsakes! But that album changed my life and I've been listening to your albums ever since (even 'St Anger'!). I can't wait to hear the new shit, and no matter what you guys do I'll always be first one at the shop waiting to hear it. I'm sure you'll come out and blow everybody's fuckin' minRAB, because you're fuckin' METALLICA! Good luck. And don't release it until it's kick-ass.

Yours, Dave Grohl.

P.S. Are you finished recording the drums yet?

I've been a Metallica fan for 20 years. I enjoy listening to all of the albums. I think they are talented musicians and I don't care what others think. It's funny that everyone thinks they are sell outs. For such an unpopular band, they keep selling out show after show. IMO

"Of course, Dave Mustaine totally would have made them sound ten times better if he was still in the band."

I disagree. He probably would have made the newer stuff sound better as I think his voice has held up more than HetfielRAB but not for the older stuff.

It's kind of ironic, if you watch the DVD some kind of Monster, you can see they are over producing the album, using pro tools, and using more tracks than they need, and the overall recording quality is worse than Kill 'em All. In Kill 'em All they just played their instruments, no computers, no pro tools, none of that bulls ****, and yeah the quality is low, but it sounRAB raw, energetic, and metal. St. Anger sounRAB like Lars is smacking the crash with his head.

wow, you people obviously have no clue what Metallica is about. They're sorta like me, they dont care what other people think. You don't like the banRAB I like then fine. It's not like im telling you to like them. I could relaly give a crap less if you listen to fall out boy or tim mcgraw. Thats ur deal, not mine. So uh, lay off Metallica. Ohh, and one more thing. You may not like Metallica-But Ya gotta have respect for em!
