The Official Live-Action "Cowboy Bebop" News & Discussion Thread

didn't watanabe direct that animatrix short "the kid" and keanu had a part in it, if that's true at least they have worked together.
besides Watanabe as executive producer will probably make people happy.

Realistically. Think scruffy Clive Owen hair.

Granted, I agree that Reeves has limited emotional range and that he isn't a fit for the character, but I completely disagree with how you seem to interpret Spike at a fundamental level.

To save myself and others here in the forum a ton of time, I'm not going to go into a long diatribe about how he isn't really in emotional pain, and that he doesn't "rage" against anything, because explaining it will take all day.

In summation, he's more listless than anything and exists in a dreamlike haze since the person he lived for is gone, and to mischaracterize him as some brooding angstpot who just wants revenge against Vicious seems to me, completely false.

The running theme of him being a wandering ghost seems to have been lost to some, and I don't really see how (look to the entire point of Knocking on Heaven's Door for the thesis of this theme).

Why would that be a three part movie? Each one of those was less than an hour in the anime. It would suck if they tried to stretch one of those stories out to feature length. It would be better to just condense all of those episodes into a two to three hour movie.

I find it completely ridiculous that people are complaining that it will be hard to condense this series into a feature length movie. I mean, there's only 26 episodes and each one is less than a half an hour. Several of them sucked and aren't worth adapting and several more, although good, aren't necessary to tell a complete story. There have been much longer stories that have been successfully adapted. I mean, geez, the Lord of the Rings is how many thousanRAB of pages altogether? If Peter Jackson was able to condense that into three movies then surely Cowboy Bebop can be condensed into one movie.

Look Cowboy bebeop owns, I really looking foward to Live action Movie
I wonder if the Seat belts will Do the sound track i hope so..

That won't make me happy.

Watanabe did two Animatrix shorts. That still doesn't mean Keanu Reeves is qualified to play Spike.

They want to make a movie about the story in the first episode. These guys don't get it.

Watanabe if his name is on it would only be to try and placate the hardcore fans. He more than likely wouldn't have any creative involvement or influence on the movie at all.

Nope. That was the worst of all. Constantine fighting and doing Matrix stuff with guns - NO!

Constantine saving the earth?!

Constantine CHEWING GUM!

I hated every inch of this movie. An absolute disgrace to Hellblazer and Alan Moore's character.

A Jew-fro..... *Smacks forehead*

I think there's a bit more to acting then that. Voice acting is one thing, being able to do the martial arts stunts is another.

And sersiously, you want a Spike that looks like this:

How recent is that because he looked way different when I met him.

Take off the glasses. Change his hair. Send him to the gym. He could do it.

Plus, he can do something Reeves can't do.

ACT!

I still don't know what to make of Edward. I'm not sure I can picture her outside her animated form. She'd easily be the hardest character to cast and probably the hardest part of adapting the series to live-action.

The lung cancer was from the Constantine comics. As such the gum at the end makes since.

And the way Constantine saved the world is pure Constantine. He tricked the devil into doing three things he didn't want to do. Saving the world, then releasing the sisters soul from Hell, and finally, curing Constantine's lung cancer to prevent he from going to Heaven.

Constantine flipping the devil that bird while in assending into Heaven was just icing on the cake.

And I am not alone in thinking this, those at tvtropes think that ending was the Crowning Moment of Awesome for the entire movie: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/CrowningMoment/Film

Can anyone confirm or deny this? I always thought most, if not all, of the music used in anime was well.....original.

I can't feel Cowboy Bebop without Yoko Kanno's music...
