The Official Linkin Park

^ since when is mainstream a bad thing? Linkin Park isn't my cup of tea you might say, but 3-4 years ago when it was I liked them alot. The music isn't terrible but its so damn angsty.

i asked if you were serious
and you neither confirmed or denied
either way it was a stupid and pointless thing to say...

my general assumption is that people are stupid...
there are most likely some poor kiRAB who believe that

i am a HUGE Linkin Park fan. i'm a meraber of LPU and Linkin Park Community.
and i loved Collision Course.
i know this cd has been out for quite some time and this topic has probably already been breached on this site but it seems everytime i mention this cd to someone, whether they are Linkin Park fans or not some people get really offended.
some Linkin Park fans have even lessened their intrests in LP just cuz this band made a cd w/ a rapper. as most would say rap and rock don't mix.
some people feel that LP are sell outs cuz they coversed w/ Jay-Z.

well i object. i think it was an amazing idea. i do not usually listen to rap, but i'm open minded enough to give anything a fair chance. i don't rag on music unless i give it a chance first.
as for the cd, Collision Course i thought it was very unique, and a never been done before ablum. metal meets rap. i like it. its a very open minded concept and i think we need diversity in this world, and this cd could be a start. couldn't music also seperate us into little stereotype groups? just becuz i listen to rock and metal does that mean i can't listen to any other genre of music? i think that is why some LP and Jay-Z fans got offended when they heard this cd. they think that people should stick to the selected music they fit into. the skater ppl listen to Taking Back Sunday, the goths listen to Korn, preps listen to kelly clarkson, bla bla bla....
you get the picture.
well i think thats wrong. i think music shouldn't be classifyed into groups to make it fit. nor should people. is it fair to say what music can do and cannot?
is it fair to say what ppl can do and cannot?

my opinion on Collision Course, concerning rap mixed with rock....

it was GENIUS.

but anyway i'd like to also hear your opinions concerning this cd. thanks.
peace,

I used to love Linkin Park when they first came out.
I guess they got kinda old with their Meteroa album which was full of songs that sucked. That was the last straw for me.
The first one being all the cancelled shows because Chester was in a perpetual state of ailment.

Their best song ever is probably Points of Authority. Now that I'm older I realize that doesn't say much about them considering it isn't something worth writing home about.
Although Crawling and One Step Closer were pretty good. As well as Paper Cut

I really don't like them, although I did see them at a festival here in Houston. I must say, they are pretty good live. But I really don't like the albums or the band.

I think they're pretty terrible. Their lyrics are over-wrought, their instrumental work is not very creative, and whatever quality they are capable of is destroyed by overproduction. I don't like being too critical, but I think Linkin Park pretty much erabodies rock's stagnation into the late 90's.

I used to like LP, but I grew out of them. Plus they are a bit too formulated for my tastes. You'd think a band that incorporates 3 major genres wouldn't have such a simple song structure.

then instead of taking the P*** out of MY music then lets talk about YOUR music (if you dont like L.P then DON'T talk about them!!!! - it's as simple as that!!!!)

Yeah, they're talented and all that ****. Too weak for me though, and too mainstream. Plus everytime I see the lead singer he just makes you wanna beat his ass. I don't 'hate' them, I just don't 'like' them.

Their old stuff was good but ever since they joined up with Jay-z, everyones started hating them. There just too rappy now for my taste. Reanimation was too rappy as well.
