The OFFICIAL Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Parts 1 & 2 Thread

The major bit of the films that didn't make sense for me was the Barty Crouch Jr part of GOF. At the end when it's revealed that Moody is actually a death eater in disguise, Dumbledore says "Tell Azkabahn one of their prisoners has escaped."

Seriously? The Dementors of Azkabahn haven't realised one of their prisoners has been on the run for a whole year? This despite the fact that the whole of the previous film was about another escaped prisoner??? And when he does go back to prison, they presumably don't question him about his activities???

Come on........

One change to the deaths they have made is

that Goyle died instead of Crabbe. Because the actor who plays Crabbe was not allowed to return following his drugs conviction.

The trailer was shown just now on tv :D So excited! Can't believe it's this month! It's come round so quickly.

I'm tempted to see it as soon as it comes out, even though the cinemas will be packed. I hate it when the cinemas are packed.

I agree with all your post but especially your last comments.

I did tut tut at that part of the trailer. What the heck? It also looked like Harry was tied up in a straitjacket in that scene.

Then I told myself that I must not be a HP purist. It's not worth getting het up about the inevitable in the films. I just hope that people read the books to get the full stories; seeing as the films (excepting film 1) miss out so much of the tales.

I'm really glad that they aren't releasing the film in 3D

What I found really interesting was the wording on this one

However, Warner Bros has now announced that the filmmakers were unable to complete the
transition into 3D for the entire film, and have now abandoned plans for the technology.

Abandoned plans for the technology? I wonder if they mean in general so no more 3D films if they weren't shot in 3D or if they just mean they are just abandoning doing 3D on this film?

"Abandoning plans for the technology" is a weird expression.

Well people around my age group (18) would feel it's ageing at the same rate we are! When the first one came out I was 11, and the characters were 11,etc. So when the younger fans were growing the series gets darker just in time for when they want to watch it! But the books were obviously before the films but I could still handle it all.

Seeing the trailer just brought back memories from Summer 2007 when I was so excited at buying the book and discovering how everything concluded for the first time, and there was so much sadness in it :(

For people who've read the book, which parts are you looking forward to seeing the most in the film? (If you can remember it all, I still need to reread parts, lol)

Some of mine are:

The seven Potters

Gringotts bank scene

When Ron gets mad and leaves them, this will be emotional

How well some of the deaths are done including Mad-Eye,Hedwig, Dobby, etc. :(

Well, you can't really blame them can you ? Book and film are two different entities and shouldn't be compared. Changes are made for the story to flow in a cinematic way. We should be very grateful that this series was made into films.

I have full trust in the filmmakers. So what if they cut out a bit of the Horcrux story? The director and scriptwriter know what they are doing and are obviously tweaking the plot a little bit for it to be accessable to non-book readers as well.

Got my tickets for opening night! Screw the kiRAB and the crowRAB though, I've been with this 9 years, i'm def gonna enjoy it! I love the retrospective trailer!
