The OFFICIAL Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Parts 1 & 2 Thread

To those who have seen the additional deleated scenes on the bonus disc of the Half Blood Prince:

does anyone else think that the scene with Flitwick conducting the choir (it also shows Snape & Malfoy getting ready to meet with the rest of the death eaters) should have been kept in? I saw the scene just now. I definatley think it should have been kept. I think it sets the tone for the rest of the film.
 
I think Michael Gambon was really good in Prisoner of Azkaban but only in the odd scene since then. His best overall take is in Half-Blood Prince though I still don't like how they dealt with that story. I'm sure his scenes in Deathly Hallows will be great too, something extra special.

I thought Richard Harris was too cheesy as Dumbledore in the first two, but that wasn't really his fault. It was all very kiddified then and they gave him too stereotypical a look and a way of speaking. Alfonso Cuaron then came in and delivered exactly what we needed in the way everything looked and felt, Dumbledore included. Cuaron remains one of the most important people ever involved in this franchise.
 
Oh my gosh im so exited! Me and a friend went through the trailer pausing it and working out what part of the book it was, i know its sad but it was so much fun! The only thing we couldn't work out was the part with he who shall not be named ;) and Harry in what looked like the astronomy tower (time 1:34) , anyone got any idea about what part that was?

OH and the part with someone who we can only assume was Hermione walking down a street towarRAB like a load of houses. (time, 1:01) any ideas?

YES. The music is beautiful, and the guilt and uneasiness on Snape's face is amazing.

Alan Rickman is a brilliant actor, no dialogue in that scene, just pure expert expression.
 
Runtime is 147 minutes (2 hours and 27 minutes). People seem to be complaining about it, as it's the third shortest film, which I think is pretty good considering it's only around half the book. I don't see why this part or the second one HAS to be the longest just because it's the last film, especially considering they are each only around half the book.

Watching Philosopher's Stone at the moment. Am I alone in preferring the Richard Harris's portrayal of Dumbledore? His Dumbledore is exactly how I imagined the character while reading the books. And I still do, even now, knowing that Michael Gambon has played him for the majority of the films.
 
I'm going to watch it in 2D and then maybe give 3D a go. I know I'll want to watch it twice at the cinema.

The last film really shouldn't be in 3D, none of the other films were so this shouldn't be either. 3D is ok for new films and new film franchises, but for the last part of a 7 (well 8) part series it shouldn't be in 3D. I do like 3D when used well, usually when a film is made for 3D (horror films for example and monsters vs aliens), but if you want to tell a good story 3D may divert your attention from it.

I am looking forward to watching the film though :D
 
They made their job in this film a lot harder by not focusing on the memories and Horcruxes in the last film. Instead they chose to focus on the romance, and expositing Malfoy's task. I'm definitely gonna see both parts in cinemas -- the trailer was brilliant, except for the iffy bit with old Voldy holding Harry by the neck -- but I'm prepared to be annoyed.
 
That scene with Snape is one of the reasons I think it should have been kept in. Especially for those who don't read the books.
