The Official Grunge Thread

Sorry nope, Hair metal / glam rock was on it`s way out as much as 2 years before Nirvana came along.

Between 1989 & 1991 the focus moved away from hair metal and on to banRAB like The Chili Peppers , Faith No More , REM , Janes Addiction and all that lot.

Grunge didn`t kill hair metal it died from over exposure, Grunge mearly kicked the corpse while it was down. You don`t see people claiming emo killed grunge in the past few years , because it didn`t.

In other worRAB critical acclaim and an independent label determines weither or not a band is in it for the music and not the money, thats essentially what you are saying.

And grunge, while hardly significant by todays standarRAB, was a credible musical movement, it is by no means one of the worst things to have happened to music, you need to save that term for something far more deserving, like brit pop.

Yeah, people have been making post-grunge music since the mid-90s and charting with it. I wouldn't call that a revival, I'd call it lingering aftereffects. And that's exactly why there won't be some big grunge comeback, because it's never become forgotten enough for people to rediscover it.

I give music a 6.8/10. (if you get it I love you)

Anyway grunge definitely isn't my favorite genre but I do enjoy it from time to time. Does anyone else feel that Pearl Jam's Ten is overrated, though? The problem is with the production; it's too slick, too "epic" in a cheesy way, in terms of the guitar sound and the added production flourishes. I don't know if the new reissue somehow changes this or not.

no i meant theres more grrl banRAB around than other grunge banRAB

im into grrl i would never call it crap and yes rirabaud is awesome

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I forgot about that! I didnt comment because it would be mean, but, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!

He was clearly lying. A 9 year old with an IQ of 144 could write more coherently.

Why is it always the most shortsighted idiots, those morons that buy into every cliche, the people who seem like they were born yesterday that claim to have astronomical IQ's? It baffles me.
