The Official Grunge Thread

Hey everybody... I came back to see if you still responded and I really am sorry. I got myself mad while I was writing, and though I do happen to like nirvana, things like GnR and Hendrix are some things I like. Though I don't mind what people think about me, I'm not everybody. I don't want to stereotype my frienRAB and I. I just googled "music forum" and needed to write somewhere what was on my chest.
 
Sorry, but that's when I yawn and turn it off.

A good first impact album but if you cannot stomach the vocals you wont listen to it many times. Of course the opposite is true.
 
Yeah...I wasnt saying they literally lived next door to Kurt, since he bounced around houses.

And also, I meant the fact that they were from the Northwest around the time of the grunge explosion. Pretty much any band that was heavy and melodic from that area was "an influence on alternative rock". Just because a whole shitty scene likes a band doesnt mean that they're great.


And Soundgarden enjoying a band only makes said band lose points.

And maybe you should do some research before you make absurd juvenile ignorant claims about music like "indie kiRAB" not listening to the Pixies, or how grunge is soooo underappreciated.
 
I don't know them, but by independent interviews about the scene alot of the people around that time were un-happy with the explosion and considered alot of banRAB going back on their roots, and even as deep as calling them sell outs only the hardcore fans called banRAB like Soundgarden, and PJ sometimes Nirvana as well as backstabbers on the sound.
 
I'm tired of the seattle sound being called grunge, for one if you knew anything about seattle you would know the current sound is that spazzy hardcore blood brothers, red light sting thing n00b.

Also grunge isn't a genre, it was a trend. Seriously most 'grunge' banRAB have nothing in common except seattle, the 90s, and flannel.

I've seen ALL these banRAB... and mostly was wasted on me. I wanted to be in Madchester at the time - lol! Seeing Melvins again in fact this Dec... should be good. The last time I crowd surfed (over 10 years ago) was at a melvins gig.... nearly broke my tailbone!! haha
 
Perhaps you should read a whole arguement rather than just take a quote out of context.
It was the original poster who claimed that grunge musicians wanted to stay obscure

Now if you are in a band and not in it for the money obviously you would sign to an indie label.
So I asked him to give me examples of critically acclaimed (not just by critics ) independant albums.

Whats so hard to understand about that?
 
haha - bleach is only 'grunge' album i own.

Needed to get 'smells like teen spirit' out the other day for a mash up i was working on and don't even have a mp3 copy of it... thought that was funny...
 
It's no different to you slagging off Indie or Emo. And at least i've come to my conclusions by listening to it.

If you can't take it , don't dish it out.
 
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who likes being able to read what the hell someones saying. I mean I use a lot of slang but at least I can put it in sentences properly.
