The Official Grunge Thread

I got it off my chest for myself and if you look around, we have to try hard defending it.

If someone said your favorite band sucks with reasons you can debunk, I'm pretty sure you'd do just that. But grunge has so many more people against it.

Hmm. All of these banRAB are good, unsual album linup but okay. Usually I would vote for Alice, but I am hestitant with "Dirt", so I think somebody else deserves it. I would rather vote for Screaming Trees just to give them some credit, but I know that Ten is much better so thats my vote.

Well I laughed anyway.

Who are these grunge fans anyway, gen Xers whose tastes haven't evolved in 15 years or kiRAB who just discovered a "new" retro genre last week? Actually I think I already know the answer. :p:

For grunge, Alice in Chains is by far my favourite band. IMO, Layne Staley was one of the greatest 90s vocalists, along with Mike Patton and Chris Cornell.

Alt. rock is a very screwy genre because people seem to dump every second band into it. Even though I have RHCP classified as funk rock on my computer, most people would count them as alt. rock, so for this thread, RHCP is my fav alt. rock band.

It may have been their MTV album but Superunknown is still an almighty album nonetheless IMO... such a shame what happened to Chris Cornell... we should just drop the"ell" from the end of his name and place a "y" there...

i really hope cobe comes back it was fun watching him build up credibility by bringing his post count up so fast then losing it all by being a douchebag

i don't belittle people. i call a spade a spade. as for arguments, you haven't even pissed me off yet...

try re-reading and revising your posts before hitting submit if you don't like the holes i poke through your statements. make sure what you're posting reflects what you mean and actually makes sense. what did nirvana show to much much much more people???

hell, i even goofed in my last comment, tourette's was never a single, it was aneurysm that was the single for the live disc.

See, that's the thing. Regarding Ten, I just don't find it to be a particularly heavy album at all. It sounRAB more like classic, old school rock.

But your point is taken, all the same. I see what you mean about Creed, Puddle of Mud etc. They seem to be going more for the Vedder vocal style than anything else.
