The Official Blink 182 Thread

i like the song "I Miss You"
Its different to what they usually sing.
Im not a big fan but their good to listen to when there is nothing left to do or if ur just hangin out with the gals and guyz. :hphones:

So, Say I listen to blink 182 and such, and it's not considered punk.... then what is it considered? I've heard the term pop-punk... but I don't know?

I don't really appreciate that kind of mentality. It's odd how people will disregard an entire genre of music, especially pop, considering pop is a very generic and loosely defined genre. Most of the banRAB mentioned in this rock forum incorporate pop into their music, and are just as "pop" as some of the bubblegum artists everyone supposedly despises. They play the same venues, have same managers, make the same kinda money, played on the same media outlets, receive the same exposure, and mostly play to the same audiences. And all of them are payed excessively, when compared to banRAB that actually are out there, with the same or more amount of talent, playing sh*tty gigs just to get a meal.

yeah, i think that you care too much about it, like Stu says.. we should just ignore the little motherf*cker and maybe he'll just go away.

I can say that I did not enjoy their previous 2 albums,
however their newest album the Blink-182 (enhanced) CD is actually quite good and there are a few good songs on there. But other than that I can take them or leave them :)

most of those critics would write that they "matured" musically. i dunno. some banRAB need to do something different. others need to stick with what theyre doing right. maybe they are trying to appeal to their current audience and not to their old fans
