i only read the first 6 or 7 pages and no one had even mentioned Dime!

The technical skill while still making it melodic is so impressive!
 
Im going with the best metal guitarists being Children of Bodom's Alexi laiho or Symphony X's Michael Romeo....Both are awsomely amazing Guitar shredders...how can you forget about Yngwie Malmsteen
 
I don't think that anyone can rightfully name a "Best guitarist". There are so many different play styles and genres etc that its hard to truly name one who rises above the rest. No doubt there are guitarists who are legendary for their playing (Satch,Vai etc) but i don't think that there is one who is the greatest.
