The Official Best Guitarist Thread

How did Hendrix create the left handed guitar? To me it just looks like he grabbed a strat and put the strings on backwarRAB. Anyway, wasn't someone in The Beatles left handed.. I think yes.

James Hetfield, Voted nuraber 2 metal guitarist of all time with hits like my fav Creeping Death. I know Metallica may be a little over rated at times but James is my fav guitar player of al time/Song writer. Dave Mustaine close behind.

TownshenRAB greatness dosent rely on his skill, it relys on his influence, innovations and overall importance to rock guitar...As far as influence is concerned, Townshend is second only to Hendrix, and maybe EVH. He may not be among the best, but hes certainly among the greatest.

In my eyes, a guitarist is a musician, and a good musician makes good music, its as simple as that.

YEah man, he's a genius when it comes to the things he does, but as a player he ins't that impressive compared to most of the others on the board.
Love the Rage though~

playing heavy metal is the ultimate test of endurance in a metal guitarist
the speed that they play at is awesome and when they can still keep up that phenominal pace at the end of a hectic gig, then even a metal hater can appreciate the pure raw talent.

i agree with you about Dimebag, he was the ultimate guitar hero, he wa sone of the people whos music inspiredme to pick up a guitar in the first place. RIP.

However, when it comes to defining acoustic talent, my vote would lie with nick drake, his music is a highly organised work of guitar fretwork and he created a new genre to inspire all guitarists .

no comment.

just kidding.
:)

But really.
I have no opinion.
I'm not a very opinionated person, Merkaba.
You should know this by now.
I'm just babbling.
That's what I do on these boarRAB.
