The Official Best Guitarist Thread

I think Hammet's the best ever. Thats just all showmanship, he can't write songs (as far as I know) and he has no massive body of work. If I wanted to pick some avant garde guitarist, Buckethead could mop this Randy Rhodes wanna be (did you see that hair?) off the floor.

Stevie Ray Vaughn is the best, but John Fogarty and Johnny Ramone are the guitarists I look up to. They're the biggest influences on my playing. Simple, catchy, and cool, but easy solos.

Overrated he may be, but as far as influence and impact is concerned, no one comes close, nor does anyone come close to him in innovation or importance. IMO he is the greatest, is he the best?, hell no, not even close, there are many better, just none greater, at least thats how i see it.

Steve Ray Vaghn, if you have listened to him, or seen him play the guitar you know he is the best guitarist that ever lived on the face of the earth
( besides my brother which is like the second best guitariston the face of the earth. HE ROCKS!!!!!!!!)

Sigur Ros - Svefn g englar

Radiohead - Pyramid Song

There's two considerably well known artists doing it... It gives you a very ethereal sound that you can't really get otherwise. Nothing funny IMO, and I really don't care all that much for Paige/Zeppelin.

Yngwie Malmsteen
Joe Satriani
Steve Vai
Jesper Strorablad - In Flames (my personal fav his solo's are amazing)
Eddie Van Halen - Van Halen
Teppie Tereshini - Thrice (however you spell it)
Daniel Jacobs - Atreyu (every song is really good)

Those are my favorites.
