The Official Best Guitarist Thread

Jimi Hendrix is probably the best in history in my opinion, but I've never seen him play. I know he played with all his soul and heart, which made him the best. On the other hand, I've seen a concert on tv of Led Zeppelin, and Jimmy Page is really great. I was so amazed. I've never seen anyone play better, but then again, I've never seen everyone play. It's all in opinion, just like amyleefan (or w/e) showed us. Of course Jack White isn't the best guitarist. Maybe he has some talent, but if he was that good, would my friend be able to play better than him?

I dont think anything amazing should be talked about curt cobain...he basically invented grunge but right now we are talking about awsome guitarists...and metal by the way

ive heard some of his stuff, im not sure whether or not it wuz solo. it wuz ok. but definitely not the greatest of all time.

Dont know bout the rest of the people here but I would class you as a newbie as well. By the way what ****hole county are you from in Ireland? Might explain a few things!

its amazing, hes been playing for about 4 years and he is well amazing at it. he can play really fast solos behind his head and with his teeth, hes in a band called wolfman jack, but i now hate the drummer as he dumped me yesterday. pfft men!

I thought they were on Rough Trade? Either way, most "indie" banRAB today aren't on independent labels. Indie has just become a sound of its own.

It's him and his damn wammy peddle. I think Jack White uses one too but so that way he doesnt need to have a nother guitar on stage and more amps and all. But Tom and the scratching that is cool

I agree that most of the players listed so far are among the best. Hear are a few of my favs...
Vinnie Morre, Greg Howe, Satriani, SRV, Pual Gilbert, Borislav Mitick, Christopher Parking, Segovia. (I admit to liking the neo-classical)
