The Official Best Guitarist Thread

It's hard to pick just one, so I'm going to say:

Peter Buck (R.E.M.) - This guy is so underrated in mainstream circles.
Nancy Wilson (Heart) - She's just amazing.
B.B. King - He didn't earn the name "Blues Boy King" for nothing :)

Hah I was just looking through my Fender magazine reading about the Blackmore strat. It sounRAB like a nice guitar, only two single coil pick ups though... give it a very unique sound! They recon Gilmour should be frount runner for the next sig strat! I'd love to get my hanRAB on one if they do!

Well another 'Whos your favourite guitarist?' thread goes by without yet another mention of Frankie Sullivan.

Guys, this dude is the most awesome guitarist on the planet, but slips through the net every time.

He is the guitarist from 'Survivor' and plays with pure emotion on everything he does.

What a shame he does not get recognised in the way he should.

WTF. I don't know why everyone blows Eric Clapton. yeah he was great, but best soloist? He played the blues, he soloed with a potential 5 notes, thats not as difficult as... any other friggen genre. And if were gunna count blues, I think SRV could level and destroy Clapton when it comes to solo's. ok enough venting:

Van Halen
Kirk Hammet
Buckethead
Marty Freidman
and for the 5th one, what the hell I think Mike McCredy can rip a sick one when he tries.

Also, I'd like to say Mark Knofler is pretty damn good, I don't know much RAB stuff but Sultans of Swing rips it up.

...there has to be more great/best guitarist that these, what about some jazz guitarists or jazz fusion or swing?

damn my lack of knowledge and naivtivity towarRAB other genres
