The Official Best Guitarist Thread

You said it all. :thurab:

Hard to play doesn't necessarily mean good, easy to play doesn't necessarily mean bad.

The proof is in the pudding---how does it sound on recordings and live in concert.

I saw AC/DC live back in their glory years, and Angus could rock the house with the best of them.

I love Josh Homme as well, but sometimes I feel like he's just...well... making it up as he goes along.

Case in point: Scurabag Blues. If you don't want to listen to the entire thing (you should, great song), skip to 2:30.

I'm not really into that type of music so I cant say anything about that. I just get bored unless they have interesting lyrics; music isnt enough for me. I guess it would be pretty boring the other way around too.

Page is way up there for me... Because it's not about skill, but the real energic mayhem one can make with a guitar, next to Hendrix I consider Jimmy Page to be the pure difinition of a rock guitarist.

well, first off, i'm having trouble understanding this post, but maybe i was up too late.

i was stating my opinion that Metallica is not underrated. they get/have gotten plenty of recognition. I, myself, like Metallica. their first four albums are great.

and for that last statement... i'd have to disagree.
