The Official Best Guitarist Thread

I would also have to go with Jimi Hendrix ...for pretty much the same reasone ...also, didnt he play the guitar with a toilet paper role behind his back or was that just something I remerabered that did happen? :D

I think Dimebag Darrel is the best.
He was extremely talented an unique man.
From a guitarists point of view.
Hi I'm Wyldchild I'm a new guy here.
, RollingStoner.

I just came here to say Josh Homme plays the guitar like a motherfucker. Great guitar player, obviously not the best. Page would be my favourite, not really a fan of Hendrix although anyone who denies his talent is an idiot.

Yes jimi is one hell of a guitarist but one that is up there in his level is Joe Satriani. Dimebag by far is one of the best shredders in metal. He would beat jimi in shredding but technically jimi would win. Jimi could perform well with the pentatonic scale and he could pull of complicated note arrangements.

Steve Vai/Joe Satriani- :offtopic: have you ever watched the crossroaRAB dam good movie Vai plays the devil and the karate kid has to guitar battle him at the end.-joe satriani plays his part.but anyways good listing.

Yes Lewsifer -SLAYER RULES!!!!!!!!!

Im going to be as polite as humanly possible, every time i read one of your posts, i come closer to the suspicion that you are a idiot. Im still amazed simply at the idea that someone could be close minded enough to shun everyone from Miles Davis, John Cotrane and Stevie Ray Vaughan to Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin, do you really think that metal is the only kind of good music?, and that everything else is just crap?, are you really that ignorant? The style of modern art you chose to put on display is abstraction, however the impact of abstraction isnt as great as that of other modern art styles such as expressionism and impressionism, which require a lot of creativity and uniqueness as opposed to just technical ability like early renaissance and baroque painting, in short, if you think that all forms of art that dosent require a crapload of skill sucks, you are sadly mistaken.

Edit:I removed your oversized picture for faster loading time and to save bandwidth.

Firstly, Jack White is an amazing guitarist. but not the best.

the best would have to be between jimmy page (the vilin stick was genius), jeff beck or jimmy hendrix. clapton and bellamy r class too. if it was modern guitarists id say bellamy but overall id say page!!!!!!!!!

FLOWER POWER

the reason more people don't use an actual bow on their guitars is because you pretty much need to dedicate one specifically to a bow. or you can just buy yourself an ebow and save yourself the mess (but that only works for single notes)

rosin on guitar strings is really messy

and if you want to be able to sound more than just alternate between sounding all the strings or just the high and low Es the bridge neeRAB to be rounded a bit to give access on the bow.

it really is a unique sound, especially when making a full chord ring but it's a messy hassle.
