I'm going to add Amy Winehouse - Back To Black.
This album is getting a lot of play around the house these days.
It's strong from start to finish. Even if your not a soul fan, it's well worth a listen. Enough in there for the jazz lover too.

That I have Bought/Obtained this year: Reinventing Hell - Pantera

But t hat's a very close call

Also there would be The Eraser - Thom Yorke and Rotten Apples - Smashing Pumpkins

I hope for more and even better albums to come...

Half of the albums mentioned here aren't 2006...

new Rise Against
new This Is Hell
new Betrayed
new Isis

all rule.

new Converge

I cannot wait for.

wow, that's a great list for 2006. Here's some suggestions to add on to list.

It's by alphabet since my itunes says so, but they're all great for 2006:

...And You Will Know Us By the Trial of Dead - So Divided
***It grew on me, reminded me of their source tags

Ad Astra Per Aspera - Catapault Calypso
****I just loved their raw sound, it reminded me of ATD-I

Aloha - Some Echoes
*****Amazing CD by Aloha, one of the best in 2006. Challenges everything

Arctic Monkeys - whatever people say...
*** Catchy stuff

The Battle Royal - Sparkle Dust Fantasy
***Highschool band thats putting out good dance music with guitars and drum

Black Moth Super Rainbow + The Octopus Project- The House of Apples
***You want to listen to trippy ****? What about Dance? What about both?

The End of the World- You're Making It Come Alive
*** Its simply garage rock, which is why its so simple and easy to enjoy

The Evens- Get Evens
*****THe famous Ian from Minor threat and fugazi debuts with his new band, creating songs that are catchy and driving as seen from fugazi. Think of it as being new and improved.

Forward Russia- Give me a Wall

Rx-Bandits - ... And the Battle Begun
***** They really outdid themselves here. Anyone likes somewhat prog rock will love this fast paced band

Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin- S/T
***** This makes my top 3 as well. Catchy, throwback indie pop. Every song is a single on this album

And last but not least:

Zebrahead- Broadcast to the world
*** How can you not like this pop rock band. Very catchy songs on this CD and a great car CD for frienRAB that generally listen to the radio

-All in all 2006 did not have any groundbreaking recorRAB, but it definitelly had some really great albums. It was good to see banRAB that put some quality CRAB out there from start to finish. If anyone wants advice on which CRAB to get, PM me.

making mine this week - quite a few similarities (i can't think of anything better than hot chip off hand for instance this year...)
