The Office (US) - did ITV2 skip an episode?

Woooow so much more to see......

But worrying that the remainder of series 3 and all 4 exist and yet ITV (or another) haven't continued showing.

I have just checked eBay and there are people selling series 3 and 4 so might have to resort to spending some of my hard earned cash..... but it is definitely worth it.

Thanks again for letting mr know the series detail.

The whole 3rd season was shown a few months' back in the very-very late night slot on ITV2, but for some reason they stopped the recent early evening re-runs after 15 episodes - does anyone know when/if they're going to show the remaining episodes in this slot? Why do ITV insist on not showing entire series runs, it seems designed to lose audiences...

Can I just say, after lobbying for this series for so long on these forums I'm glad to see so many people putting aside their American hatred and enjoying what is a fantastic show. People said it would suck, and it's turned out to be a huge hit.

I don't think I've ever invested as much time and emotion in a show as I have this one. You really find yourself getting to "know" the characters, and that's lacking in television nowadays.

I had ordered Season 4 Uk release on pre-order from Amazon, it was due for release Mid March I think, but has now been put back to 13 June so guessing ITV will have shown the series by then

Me too. But it's no longer a remake. It started fairly close to the British show, a few jokes in common, but it was different from our show, and now even more so.

I'm a bit worried it'll go too "soapy" though; I hope they don't move the focus away from comedy too much.

To be fair the earliest episodes where they were getting into the stride of things and basically just cutting and pasting the UK scripts DID suck.

However now it has moved beyond the constraints of the original it really is a wonderful thing and much much funnier than the Gervais version.

Hope that's the case, as they've ruined the potential viewers of the show by delaying the broadcast of Season 4.
Hopefully CC will pick it up and start showing the Season 5,6 etc.. with not much time delay behind the States.

Apparently in Ireland they're already showing Season 6!

EDIT:-

Comedy Central to show Season 4 & 5 this Year (see the post on the link below):-

Oh yeah, I'm not denying that fact. The first few were majorly crap.

And yes, it's funnier, but I think they're really two different shows now, with two different approaches. I enjoy both ways of doing it :)

I love my comedy - I've seen most the classic greats and recent cult hits including other fly-on-the-wall tye mockumentaries and sketches but I don't find this show even remotely funny. I do smile at it and the characters do make it worth a watch if you've got the time. But reading through this thread, it seems vastly over-rated.

I didn't like the origional one either, so I don't fully agree.

I do understand the initial backlash though when foreign remakes are announced, if they were successful enough abroad for them to merit a remake then surely foreign audiences are able to understand the origional enough as it is for it to be moved to larger networks in it's current form?

Where the originators (writers and producers not the country) can recieve the credit they deserve,

Again I'm not a fan of either show and I think Ricky's a cretin, so the previous two paragraphs are referring to remakes as a whole, not The Office.

I think there should be some sort of regulation in place so that TV companies when they start a programme, have to show the entire series.....

I suppose thinking about that, it wouldn't be practical when a series sucks... why be forced to keep showing.

But I wonder why ITV didn't complete the US Office? as I am sure it is popular.
I think if it had appeared on the main ITV chanell (Terrestial) it would have been even more popular.

I notice Steve Carell is appearing in films now (ie Get Smart)
So I wonder if that may encourage ITV to continue showing the office.

I must admit my initial feelings about the US version were not positive, but now I think the US version is much better.

I hope someone can post some good news about the series coming back.
We need something good to watch on TV now that Autumn has arrived!!!!!!
