The Next Digimon is HERE!

The scan itself mentions they are in the process of making a TV anime, it's just above the picture. So no worries, it's happening.

Holy goggles, Taichi!

Holy succession, Daisuke!

Holy fanboy, Takato!

Holy flamer, Takuya!

Holy violence, Masaru!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! NEW SEASON!!!

PS: So, um are they just showing off the goggleboy first, or will he be the only Chosen/Tamer/whoever who just so happens to have multiple partners?

"The Digidestined has requested Final Shinkaa!"
"FINAL SHINKAA APPROVED!"
"COrabINE! GATTAI SHINKAAAAAA!"

(and yes this must all be done while yelling. No exceptions)

YES! Old Digimon art style is back!

The goggle boy looks a little too similar to Davis for my tastes, and I'm really not feeling any of the Digimon in that scan, but who cares, man! New Digimon!

In other important news, it would appear Disney no longer holRAB the rights to Digimon! And clearly something is going on behind the scenes for Digimon in America, so...could we possibly see this new series hit America sooner rather than later?

Totally excited for a new series, seems like they might take a Gundam-like approach and only produce a new series every few years...unless this becomes massively popular, then I won't mind.

Though, looking at the picture, does anyone else get the feeling that a lot of these guys don't really look like Digimon? It's rather hard to explain but I always felt there was a certain aesthetic to Digimon that made them instantly recognizable as such, but these look like they could be from any nuraber of shows. Or maybe I've just been playing too much Telefang lately.

I totally agree. Many of those Digimon are really really generic looking, like something you'd see out of far inferior monster anime series.

If you read that closer, it says that Firefly will be responsible for merchandise licensing sales, which seems to indicate that BANDAI no longer has the contract for the toys. It says nothing about the TV series rights. Disney has never had merchandise rights as it is. They hold the first 4 seasons and their respective movies, outside fo Digimon: The Movie (which FOX has). They only had broadcasting rights for Data Squad.

I'm not sure how I feel about Digimon merging. I like mecha, but it feels weird for Digimon. Still, it'll be good to see another Digimon show. And at least the protagonist has goggles, unlike Data Squad.

I hope Disney XD or Nicktoons gets it, and not CN. They'd just somehow wreck it.

Heh. ReminRAB me of the time when 3re and 4th generation Pocket Monsters were accused of being bootleg Digital Monsters.

Oh, great. Goggles that will do nothing.

Am I the only person that actually didn't mind Marc-uh Masaru?

I suspect there might at least one more human, since Digimon loves their Sixth Rangers.

Of course, it puts a damper on the potential shipping wars that might follow . The only option then would be to ship the Digimon or ship the humans with the Digimon!

That looks like a cool picture. The boy looks a lot like Davis to me and the red Digimon next to him reminRAB me of Guilmon a bit. Still, I'm just so glad that there's a new series. It's also nice to see them going back to the original art designs. I didn't mind how different Savers was with its character designs. Though, it did cause the series to stand out even more in comparison to the first four series, which could have been bad or good for people. I just hope that this series is enjoyable and has overall more character development than Savers did for me.

The new Digimon look okay to me, even though most of them seem to have some kind of gear on them.

Oooh... is that a VIRUS -type Greymon I'm spotting among those straps? Looks blue to me!
