The new C109RT

Hello,
I am currently deployed to Iraq and will be coming home soon. I have maneged to save some money while deployed and looking to purchase a new crusier. I was leaning towards the C90T. "BUT" Now that I have seen the new C190RT. "WOW" What a bike!!

Let me know what you think. I have been riding off and on most of my life. I have owned 3 bikes before. A 1980 Suzuki 150cc dirt bike, 1982 Suzuki Madura 750, and currently a 2001 Suzuki Katana 600. I dont realy like the crotch rocket so I am looking for a good tour bike that looks more like a crusier. IS THIS A GOOD CHOICE???

Get what ya want Sarge....you deserve it!!!

It's a nice ride.

Shoot....if you had balls enough to ride a Madura...... You can ride anything!!!

SSG, I posted a reply in the new member forum.

Just be sure you know what you are getting into. The 109 is a big jump from a Katana 600. I totally different ride.

It is a great bike and a real nice ride. If you get it, you'll love it.

He can handle it bro....

That rat Madura he used to ride was advertised 114 hp at the wheel. Mate that into an '80's crusier suspension and accompanying technology...He'll be good to go.....

I guess I should have been more specific, I was referring more to size and weight. I'm sure he can handle it.

And stop yelling at me!

That is exactly what i was looking for. My wife wants a big bike like a Gold Wing, but I like the crusier look. Not real crazy about the tour bike look. The C109RT is like a mix of both worlds. I am just worried about the fuel injection. That is kinda new on bikes and i am not sure if all the bugs have been worked out of it yet. I have no doubts about beeing able to handle all the power. I dont get real crazy anyway. I just like to cruuuuuzzzz.

Sounds like you know what you want. Cool. As for the FI, it has been around for a few years. A lot of folks here have had or still have bike with FI. I am one. I have the C50 and FI is one of the best things to happen to bikes. Start it and go. Don't worry about that. You'll love the bike.

What do you do in Hood? Tanker?

OH YEA,
and the madura was fast for a 750. i had a friend at the time that had a CBR1000 crotch rocket and that madura would eat him for lunch "off the line any way and for about a block and a half. I really miss that old bike. I rode it all over Arizona then moved to GA and it never ran again after i got it up there. I pulled it out of the back of a Uhaul truck and it never started again. it was a sweet rat bike though

I am in Field Artillery. But here in Iraq we have been cross levelled as a motorized patrole unit and we do mounted and dismounted patroles. I love my job and would not trade it for the world.
So the 109 ci engine with the FI is not as new as I thought? Well that is good to know. I have not been fallowing the bike world for a few years. I bought the Katana from a friend that needed help with some money and have had it for about 4 yrs now. I have only been on it maybe a dozen times. I am just not real crazy about the whole "Crotch Rocket" thrill. I just like to ride!!

Sarge...the 109 is a relatively new engine, but the FI system....is second to none! It's derived from the Gixxer system. The kinks have been worked out, and I do not have enough good words in my vocabulary to tell you how good the FI system is.

Trust me...I got rid of my M50 and switched to a Buell (Harley Fuel Injection), and I didn't realize how good the 32 bit processor was until I switched.

I actually prefer the C109 over the M109 because the C is more of a blank canvass for customizing whereas the M is delivered with a "custom" look.

I agree with you on that!!!
Do you know if they make alot of customizing equipment for the 109 motor yet. I have not been able to find anything. I am looking for a hypercharger, and some cool looking and cool sounding pipes. I will also look into a custom paint job and alot more leather acc. oh yea and a neck cover for this machine. Why do all Suzuki's have that black neck in front of the tank that just stickes out like a sore thumb?

I don't think you can put a hypercharger on a FI engine. Isn't that for carb models only. I have seen hypercharger bodies sold simply for looks, cover the horn and stuff. I bought the HK sideburners and they have a similar look as the stock 109 exhaust. Here is the look and sound.

Cobra was leading the charge on the M109 motor a year or so ago.

I haven't checked with the hypercharger folks, but I'm quite sure they've put out a unit for the 109's. That bike was an instant hit when it came out, and all the aftermarket companies piled on to provide stuff for it.

I thought most service guys overseas lost their money on booze and playing cards?

Nice choice, why yes I'm envious. Damn right.

Well omegajim,
I guess that is true but someone has to win at the card table.....RIGHT???
What a better way to spend all those winnings than buying a brand new
2008 Suzuki C109RT. Gatt love it!!! LOL :>)

I have a M109R .They do not make hyperchargers for them yet you can mod some to work .If the bike you are wanting to get has the same motor,You had better hang on when you twist the throttle.
