Who thinks this is the best childrens fantasy film ever? I cant count how many times I've watched it. The score is also to die for what a beauty especially the Ivory Tower score  - who didn't cry at 10 when Artex died?

All the sequels and the TV series were apalling though

No, I'm serious unfortunately. I agree it's a classic and should be left alone. But there is a lot of talk that a remake is on the carRAB.

Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Just why?

Please, please read the book. Ii is even 100 times better than the movie.
That and Momo from the same author were my two favorite books in my childhood.

Though I've never read the book apparently it contains LOARAB of material that they never included in the '80s film, and that's partly the inspiration for doing a remake. The problem is, Neverending Story was (and still is) pretty scary for kiRAB in some parts, and that's something they would probably avoid in a remake, unfortunately. Also, CGI just doesn't feel as real. They would have to bring top effects houses to the table to do it justice.

I wonder whether they'll just do it as a totally CGI animated film.

I always thought the machine lowering him into the swamp malfunctioned, but the horse got off before any harm was done. Maybe someone just told me that to placate me as a child though. If the horse did die, I think I'd rather not be told, haha.

Should be easy enough to check. Just fast forward to the end credits and see if there's a line in there saying how "no animals were harmed during the making of this production." Its always there on films, but I'm kinda thinking it would have to be missing if an animal actually died during production.

Yup. In the 'making of' book it talks about how the horse kicked out of the the mechanism and hurt the lead actor, who was in hospital for two days.

Both actor and horse were back on set at a later point.

Any stories about the horse dying sound like gross exaggeration of that incident.

I filed a lawsuit against the makers of this film because the title lied to me.

There was an ending.

Very disappointed, I was hoping to spend my entire life watching it.
