The N95 is hot, sexy and smaller than you think

I stopped by the Nokia store here in Hong Kong (Causeway Bay) tonight to drool over the Vertu phones (I sh*t you not, one of them is $21,000 USD. wow) and they have a N95 prototype behind glass that you can look at but not touch.

Man that phone looks nice -- it seems to be about N80 size-ish (hard to tell exactly) but it's definitely smaller than I though it was going to be. The keys look large and useable, it's thinner than I expected as well.

One of the dudes there actually got to work with the phone (he seemed a more... higher level? employee) and said the GPS functionality is amazing, he was driving all over HK and the device was spot-on without any problems. He also mentioned that he thought the N95 was a lot faster/more responsive than the N93! (no idea if that means CPU or OS tweaks).

Internally they're estimating a January 2007 / Q1 release of the device, he said about $750 USD ($6000 HKD) but that was a best guess, not firm/final. Silver only as far as he knows, no black variant.

As the mod of this forum I suggest we start a S60 mod fund to purchase the hot new phones when they are released. Don't think of it as a bribe rather a contribution to the get out of jail free system!

...on a related note, I say we start a 'buy olly an n95 fund'... here are the reasons you should consider giving to this wonderful charity:

1.) I'm bigger than you (really, honestly, I probably am)

2.) I'm badder than you (certified badass mother****er right here).

3.) I want it more than you (I'll prove it, buy me the phone and I'll show you!).

the day it becomes available from a legit vendor I will be buying this mofo....If Europe has it faster it will be due to the fact that it was in a shop right in their grill..otherwise it's going to be in my grubby paws as fast as you euros!!.....now cut it out!

Guess what? I held that phone in my hand and play with it as much time as I want!!
