The Musicbanter Hall of Fame Nominations

You can't disagree because of that really...

You've gotta have a proper reason. I would bet that you haven't heard anything by Immortal Technique.

As someone stated earlier, if it was "genuine contenders" than this would simply repeat what every music journal ever has said.

And Thrice isn't my favorite band. I just find them them to be a very original band. If they don't make it whatever, but I would think the point of this thread would be to identify what the taste of rab as a whole are.

Just because they`re genuine contenders doesn`t mean they are going to get in.

I just think the names listed here should be great , original , influencial and actually made a difference , that doesn`t have to be well known.

For example if you were to pick a reggae artist for this the most obvious choice would be Bob Marley , but on the other hand if it wasn`t for the likes of people like Lee Perry and what he put into place , Bob Marley probably wouldn`t be anywhere near as successful as he was. And yet i`ve hardly ever seen Lee Perry even mentioned on this forum even though the guy was considered a genius in his field.

James Brown is in.

Johnny Cash

I'm asking this because Johnny Cash is/was one of the most influential artists in country music, and I only think it would be fair to put him up for nomination.

Agree or disagree?

I'm going to allow myself to vote now, seen as I'm not nominating these people myself. Bill your vote doesn't count by the way, seen as you nominated him.

I agree. Great worRABmith and political views (even though I'm not big on political music) a breath of fresh air into the rap game really.

Bob Marley is in.

The Smiths

The Smiths were one of the most influential band of the 80's. Through Morrisey's witty and sarcatic lyrics and Johhny Marrs guitarwork, the Smiths influenced a variety of english banRAB to follow, and are sometimes accredited with kicking off the Brit Pop movement. Oh, and aside from influence, they are extremely good.
