This movie is bad, it looks like they have ripped off parts of Indiana Jones & The Temple Of Doom, added every part of any movie based in Asia, then dropped in the scripts from Mummy 1 & 2 for good measure........
No wonder Rachel Weisz didn`t want to be involved with this.
Dont get me wrong, loved the Mummy and Mummy Returns was a good sequal, but the change of director with Rob Cohen and the new writers was a mistake.
Was very disappointed......:cry:
 
so have they replaced rachel then, they made a few mistakes

no rachel

no egypt

and a shitty script

i mean the chemistry between brendan and rachel made the film for me, i mean theres no egypt RAB what were they thinking, china :eek: is there even any pyramiRAB in china.
 
Argh!!! I saw this last night. O my god what a waste of money!!

I am more horrified cause my bf has never seen any mummy films and now thinks the entire series must be crap!

Where to start... the plot was just all a bit random, special effects were really overdone and not in a good way, the characters didnt seem to even like each other, it just seemed to take ages to get to the point.

And replacing Rachel Weisz.... Worst decision ever.

I've never walked out of the cinema, but I really wanted to, only thing stopping me was the fact I'd paid a fortune to sit through it :(

So dissapointed. :(
 
how AWFUL was maria bello in this?? and she's not a bad actress

there was so little chemistry between her and her husband

the cgi yeti were woeful
 
I have read such bad reviews that i have decided not to see this movie and im going to watch the Dark Knight instead when I had planned to watch them both in the same day.

The Emperor's body is buried there but the rest is just terracotta statues. ALthough the emperor did bury ememies and slaves under the wall but they werent embalmed or anything.
 
Thank god i've got an unlimited card is pretty much all that neeRAB to be said about this!
I quite liked the first 2 as they were quite good fun but this was just awful.
Maaria Bello's accent has to be up there with the Dick Van Dyke's of this world!
 
Well it looks like I'm in the minority here, because I actually quite enjoyed it. I agree it was no where near as good as the first one, but it was still entertaining, which is all I really want from this type of film.
 
I just got back from seeing this and i have to say that i actually quite enjoyed it. No its not as good as the first two, but it was still a decent film imo, brainless escapism is all The Mummy films have ever been about, and this is no different. Its certainly not as bad as the reviews (and most of you) are making out. Compared to some of the dross ive seen this year (e.g Diary of the Dead, AVP2) this was a bloody masterpiece, lol.

The only things i didn't like about it was the stupid inclusion of the Yeti's and Maria Bello's atrocious acting, they should have just killed off the character instead of replacing the actress.

Overall though i enjoyed it.
 
I second most of this, mindless entertainment, suspend disbelief, sit back and let it wash over you. The only thing I disagree about is the Yetis, I thought they were quite good fun!
 
Watching this on Sky Movies now and it's certainly pale in comparison to the first two, and the new actress playing Evie is awful. I'm not surprised it got so many bad reviews.
