Is it worth watching? Ive heard negative views about it, and I really really liked the first two movies, but the thing thats keeping me from watching this one is Rachel Weisz not being in it. Thought her and Brendan had fantastic chemistry in the first two and it was a shame to recast her.

So, just wanted to ask whether it was worth watching? Either buying the dvd or renting it? Thanks.:)

Get over the fact that Rachel isn't in it and the fact its not in Egypt and the fact its a bit crazy and far fetched then its not bad, BUT its no way near as good as the first too, just don't get your hopes up.

being a fan of jet li i watched because he is in it but i did miss rachel weisz and was not keen on the actress who replaced her the film was ok but the first two was much better

I found it an enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours.

Totally agree that Maria Bello (fine actor that she is) was totally wrong for the part of Evelyn. If Rachel Weisz didn't want back they should have killed off the character.

Also, you will need to suspend disbelief slightly as the actor playing Alex is only 13 years younger than Brendon Fraser.

Despite Rachel Weisz not being in it, and Alex suddenly being 21- it's an alright movie when it gets going. Not as good as the first two but, has some imagination.

I agree with all the above comments. I was actually surprised at how good it was... not that it was amazing. I was just expecting it to be dreadful, but it wasn't.

I'm with the OP, the only thing keeping em from seeing it is no Rachel...I can't believe that, I'd always hoped they'd make another Mummy movie and when they do it, she isn;t in it! It's amazing how just one actor not in it can influence that decision, lol! *shrugs*

I thought it a professional bit of work, but strictly by-the-numbers, and to an extent without any warmth or soul. Which are very nebulous concepts and difficult to quantify, but there's something lacking and I'm not entirely sure what. Bottom line, there are a lot worse things out there, but it's not great, merely good.

Jet Li was the Mummy.

The film is no great shakes but I thought it was better than the second installment which was just a glorified advert for The Rock's film career.
