Yes! And a few of them have been made by the same man: Alejandro González Iñárritu.
I don't mind this type of film, but too many of them weigh all of them down. It's not exactly such a mindblowing stucture that must used all the time. It gets old and tiring after a while.
Haha I know right. Love interests are so overused that I actually expected them to get together at some point. And I ended up losing money on that bet.
probably one of the most overused movie formulas that i've seen in recent years is the one where seemingly un-connected characters, their stories and what goes on in their lives are somehow or another connected with every other character in that film....recent examples, from a few years past 'crash'...to 'the air i breath' which i saw this year....
 I though Scary Movie 2 was stupid, was darn if I don't laugh every single time. I cry, actually. Hehe.
The love interesting thing is SO annoying. In I Am Legend, I'm so glad they semi avoided the "rule," but I was so afraid to find Will Smith macking on the woman survivor.
I couldn't agree more with that! I'm trying to think of an exception, but there seems to be none right now. Though what I hate the most is when they build a whole relationship and in the end the couple don't even end up together! I mean, it's just a waste of time so the movie doesn't have like 30 minutes...
And to be honest, my favorite Scary Movie is actually the 3rd one :look: I didn't like the 2nd at all
It's incredible. I know movies and lovers are basically a no brainer, but there are times when I would beg for no love interests to disrupt the story. Once there's that "special someone" around, there's a shift of power and the other stories sort of needs to compete with it and it shouldn't be like that.
Ha! Great take on sex scenes. Oh and BTW, I seriously can't stand explicit sex scenes, I basically forward them if I'm watching on DVD. I deeply dislike them.
Exactly. A lot of movies are ruined because producers feel the need to have some kind of romance, which then gets painfully underdeveloped because that's not the main focus, or other (more important things) may get reduced screentime because of the need for a love story. Some stories don't need a romance angle, and that's fine - stop shoehorning it in!
And oh, sex scenes. Some are too graphic, some are just bad, and most of them are just completely and utterly unnecessary.
Truer words... I don't get the obsession with love interests in EVERYTHING. Sometimes, they're forced and ruin the movie.
Why must everyone fall in love or in lust in about any situation possible? I just don't get it. I get that love stories suck in viewers but there are stories that don't need it and would greatly benefit from not having a forced relationship somewhere along the way.
And don't even get me started on sex scenes! There are movies that have the most shoe horned sex scenes with absolutely no point other than well, there HAS to be sex!
Oh boy. If we had a nickel! Then after the line, the other person answers "No" and the other person answers "Liar." Or something to that effect.
My dear movie Walk The Line used it and I loved it then but I wouldn't have minded something not so cliched. Of course Joaquin Phoenix makes everything sound great so they had that going for them. But still, SO overused.
i'm tired of this line ; "look at me in the eye and tell me you don't love me"
dammit man... can they come up with something that we haven't heard a million times...
Haha! Right, what would they do with their talents?
Scary Movie... They just didn't know where to stop. The first two were really good. I actually cried in theater from laughing so hard in Scary Movie 2.
I hate how every movie, no matter what genre, has to have some kind of romantic interest. It isn't necessary, and I don't know if producers and directors get that.
