In the fictional documentary Bob Roberts appears on "Cutting Edge Live" a clear reference to Saturday Night Live. I wonder if any situations occurred with the staff of Saturday Night Live similar to the story line of Bob Roberts. In the movie a guest host is hated by the writers actors but the network brass pushes for that guest and the actors, writers, boycotted or tried to somehow undermine or sabotage the broadcast. It seems like something that might have happened.
