I watched the episode of Dexter's Lab were he played dodgeball and the part where he imagines the kids at school who were picking on them as devils just seemed really...out of place. I don't know how to decribe it.

Actually, the purpose of the episode was to make a jab towards shows that needlessly add another character. I hear some saying that this was made as a reaction to Pinky, Elmyra and The Brain.
