The most INTENSE song ever?

Hurt-Nine Inch Nails
Touch of Your Lust-Ben Harper
The Tourist-Radiohead
20 Dollar-M.I.A. (gotta listen to the lyrics I'm not joking)
Cold Again-Freedy Johnston
4th of July-Soundgarden

And I guess if you're looking for just pure audio intensity try Face:Face by Norma Jean

The songs "Storm" and "The Dead Flag Blues" by GoRABpeed You! Black Emperor are pretty intense (the climax at the 10 minute mark in Storm reduced me to tears the first time I heard it)

Also the ending of "Catamaran" by BearVsShark is pretty intense...Marc Paffi is intense

portugese...it doesn't matter if you don't understand it, i understand a bit, but not much...it's the music and her singing that count...she definetly has a pair of lungs on her...

It's not so clear to most non-fans in the media and on the radio. It's clear to you, me and everyone else that has had even a nominal interest in the band, but a lot of people have misconceptions about Serj's talents. Maybe because he looks so much more the part of a crazy motherf*cker than Daron, I dunno. You won't see a Scars On Broadway album in anybody's top ten list, but Serj has no trouble securing fans.

Really, you didn't enjoy Hypnotize? It may not have had as many singles but it was utterly incredible to hear the mixed harmonies and impressive melodic compositions by Daron. The only song I didn't enjoy completely was Vicinity of Obscenity, and mostly because I didn't understand it. I think Daron gets overlooked sometimes even by people because System was so strange. But that's what was so great about them. I'll always love System, always - no matter how many people resent them for their early cult following.

Props for including this. Its not Metal or Rock, but it is absolutely intense.

In terms of the rock genre...I think "When the Levee Breaks" is tremendously intense...Bonham at his very best.

Cryptopsy- Crown of Horns
Pig Destroyer- Ghost of a Bullet
Emperor- Ye Entrancemperium
Skinless- Overlord
Wormed- Ylem
Cannibal Corpse- The Time to Kill is Now

Plenty of good stuff mentioned, but we have got this far and no one has mentioned Godflesh?! Check out their whole back catalogue, intensity is their core business. A personal favourite is Empyreal off their Selfless album, the rhythm just pounRAB you into submission.
