Tal Wilkenfeld who at the tender age of 21 has already toured w/ more jazz & rock legenRAB than most professional musicians do in a lifetime. Not to mention she's been Jeff Beck's exclusive bass player for a few years now. The Bass solo in this video shows a level of musical maturity that some professional musicians never reach.

It would probably take some getting used to just because of the placement. It just looks like it might get in the way of kissing and eating/drinking but it looks so good on some people.
 
I've seen that video before. She's quite talented... and that tone is to die for.

If we're talking great lady bassists, Gail Ann Dorsey should be mentioned. She's Bowie's bassist (and she's bald boo boo :D ).
This is the only video I could find but I know she plays fretless on some of the songs from the same concert (just can't find the videos).
