The Mist....WOW what an ending...

So glad about the ending. Along with all other Stephen King based movies, this one was incredible, great pace, great acting and great blend of characters, but the ending by far ruled. I haven't seen a movie 'go there' for a while now, and I love endings like that, 100% non-cliched. I knew when he shot his son, that women, and the two old folk that he would go out to sacrifice himself, but sure as hell wasn't expecting the army. Masterful ending, I know most people felt 'sick' seeing it, but I thought it was great cinema.
 
I don't think so...look at the thread title...it clearly insinuates that the thread is about the ending, and people who haven't seen the movie would be stupid to come in here.
 
Has this released in the UK yet?

I saw it at the weekend on DVD (legally, from the US, honest) and thought it was brilliant.

Would have liked to see it on the big screen (at least I think I would).

One of the best Stephen King adaptations I've seen.
 
I've seen this and I thought it was a load of old tosh. Annoying characters, laughable 'monsters' and a twist ending you can see coming from miles away.

Don't waste your money. (or time)
 
Every one is entitled to their opinion, but I wouldnt really say they were trying to make a "twist" ending because as you say you could see what was going to happen. I think what people enjoyed about the ending was that it wasnt your typical shiny happy people ending that most films have, it dared to be different.
 
Was merely voicing an opinion, seems you cant do that any more.

It was still happy to some degree in that unlike the novella where it's left open ended and foreboding, the Mist and its denizens are defeated. I prefered the novella's ending even if King likes this one more
