I hope this isn't a redundant thread. I checked the first few pages and didn't see a thread similar to it.

Inspired by the Waluigi fan thread in the Video Games forum, this thread is to give props to all of those characters who don't receive the lion's share of the attention from writers and get little or no love from fans, but you like them anyway. (And of course, let's not forget to explain why we like these characters; we don't want a list thread situation.)

I'll start:

One recent example of a minor character who I enjoy seeing is Golden Eye Husky from Cartoon Network's Hero: 108. Now the series itself left a lukewarm impression on me, but I do like many of the stylized designs for the show's animal characters, particularly the lions, tigers, pandas and ligers. Golden Eye Husky is a member of Second Squad, a squad of wannabes desperately seeking the attention and praise that First Squad receives. Husky is Second Squad's token animal member, the equivalent to First Squad's Jumpy Ghostface. But Husky is a liger. A fire-breathing liger. That's 10 times cooler than a bunny with a jumprope. I'd have liked it if Golden Eye Husky had been used on First Squad, but I would've settled for just seeing him in more episodes, along with Second Squad's leader, Alphagirl, another minor character on the show that I like.

I'm sure I'll think of some other choices, but let's hear what others have to say.

Professor Horace Behdety from Tutenstein was amongst my favorites. I don’t believe Jay Stephens intended for people to like him; he was the greedy and incompetent head of the museum and was always portrayed poorly compared to his female colleague – how clich? – but I really liked his demeanor. A few episodes did try to show that he was instrumental to the success of the museum, but more often than not he was portrayed as a total idiot. A pity.
 
The little scamp called Bokkun from Sonic X comes to my mind. Apart from Scratch and Grounder, i generally dont like the various assistants that Eggman/Robotnik gets in the Sonic cartoons, but Bokkun is just such a cute little guy, and it's fun to see Eggman having a child (of sorts) in his crew.
 
An favorite minor characters then I like in South Park are Jimbo Kern and Ned in the episodes when they brings the boys to hunting and how they hunt. Butters doesn't fit the category anymore since he's now a main character.
 
Yeah, this is pretty much what I was planning to say. Bokkun was, infact, the only reason I actually tuned into Sonic X after it became apparant that the show as a whole wasn't to my taste. He was just such a fun, lighthearted character, and his antics were always good for a laugh.

On the subject of game-based shows, I was also really fond of Madoi and her Net Navi Coloredman.exe from the 'Rockman.EXE' anime series. They were both more or less the archetypes you'd expect them to be, but I just found both of them intoxicatingly charming for some reason. Maybe it's because they were so mismatched? Maybe it's because Coloredman had a hillarious voice? Maybe it's because Madoi was a babe? I'll be damned if I know, but either way, I found both of them to be very entertaining.
 
On Teen Titans: TAS, my favorite Titan among the main 5 was Cyborg, the Titan who received the least amount of love from the TT fans. I enjoyed Cyborg on the show because he reminded me a bit of myself in various group situations. Cy had a temper, but overall, he was a nice, funny guy. Also, I like characters who utilize high tech.

Also, Lila Test from Johnny Test. Don't get me wrong. I like the Test Twins, Dukey and Hugh also (I'm not particularly fond of Johnny himself, but he's the main character, so I kind of have to deal with him). I know that part of Lila's character shtick is that she's a "busy working mom" and as such, she only appears in about 2 out of 4 episodes, but nonetheless, Lila seems like a fairly appealing character to me and I look forward to the stories where she appears. While, I don't think that Johnny Test's writers should do away with this shtick entirely, I would still like it if Lila got a little more screen time on the show.

And while we're at it, I'm also going to give props to Starlee from TMNT:Fast Forward. It could just be because I happen to like female sentient alien characters, but I thought that Starlee's potential was barely tapped on TMNT:FF. She was an alien and a genius. That's a good combination. Plus, Starlee was just plain cute.
 
Another character that I really liked was Saranoia in Yin Yang Yo!. I thought that she had a lot of potential as a villain, as she could receive different powers based on which magic wand she chose to use. She may not have been much beyond a straw feminist, but the writers barely used her and could have hammered her personality out further. Unfortunately, she was never really used in the second season, only having small cameos here and there, and her gnome henchman was instead focused on more often. I?m not sure why they decided to stop using her, but with 39 episodes in the second season, most of which containing two segments, I don?t understand why they couldn?t have given her a little bit of time.
 
A minor character I've always enjoyed is wicked witch Doga from Pucca. I may not be a big fan of that show, but Doga is easily my favorite minor character (and villain) in the show. She has an awesome voice and some cool dark magic. Too bad she only appeared in a few episodes, she had lots of potential.

Jade from Jonny Quest is a personal favorite of mine. This show doesn't have women my butt! She was a ethnic, female anti hero during a time when most women on television were at home baking cookies. Not only did Jade kick ungodly amounts of butt, she was pretty flawed. It was all about money with her and she's been known to double cross to get what she wants on occasion.

So all the Kim Possibles and Drew Saturdays of the cartoon world can take a hike, she's the coolest cartoon woman i've seen in awhile. :p

Despite the many flaws of the newer JQ revivals, I always liked Jessie and thought she had potential as well.

The Chain Gang(The Adventures of T-Rex) - They were awesome minor villainesses who're sexy punk dinosaur chicks with a great punk-like style which they would of had more episodes, they got potential.

The evil demon/Oni(Deadeye)/Siren Sung/the Bushido Babies/the Iron Butt Monks/Bantam/the Voodoo Kickboxer/mother dragon & baby dragon/the Hairy Sumo Brothers(Chop Socky Chooks) - They're all cool minor characters which Oni/Deadeye was a great interesting villainess with her cute friendship chemistries with Chick P.She needed more attention besides Kobura to explore more of her chemistries of Chick P. though.

Alpha Girl,Golden Eye Husky,Kowloon,Hurricane Lee,& Archer Lee/the Parrot King/the Groundhog King/the Commander of Darkness/evil tyrannosaurus rex(Hero:108) - They were great minor characters that need more attention like Alpha Girl's Second Squad, the First Squad's major rivals.They are awesome arrogant/obnoxious jerks along with their cool designs & Golden Eye Husky is one cool fire-breathing liger better than Jumpy Ghostface who's the animal member of their team.Cool that their team is lead by a female which makes it interesting & the Commander of Darkness was a great funny cowardly minor villain.

The other Shinigami/Yuri/Kiyomi/Naomi/Jealous/Namikawa/Aiber & Wedy/Matt/Gevanni/Hal/Shidoh(Death Note) - They were my top favorite minor characters they would of had more attention, but I was mad when they died as much as I hated that scumbag Light & Kiyomi's bodyguards:mad:, but Jealous's death made me sad though.I wish to see more of the other Shinigami which they were interesting.I kind of liked Kiyomi, but I pity her though.I'm glad Yuri, Gevanni, Hal, & Shidoh survived since they were awesome.

Prince Clovis/Kallen's nasty stepmother/Governor Calares/David(Dalton's son)/Princess Guinevere/Princess Carline/Kanon/Dorothea(Code Geass:Lelouch of the Rebellion) - All of them are great minor characters which poor Clovis would of had more screentime before his death.I wanted to see more of Kallen's horrible stepmother which she was a pretty hot villainess.That black chick was awesome of Suzaku's Knights of the Round which sucks that she got killed by Suzaku in one episode, she had potential.Carline's just desserts were great.
 
Prometheus - I just rediscovered the Prometheus & Bob shorts and they sure bring back childhood memories. You have to admire his devotion in trying to educate that caveman.

The Ranting Swede - C'mon, who didn't love this guy at the end of every single Sheep episode?

Muriel (Courage the Cowardly Dog) - She's still the coolest cartoon grandma to me (and infinitely more likeable than either Madame Foster or Truffles ever were).
 
Noah (TDI) - Being the third one eliminated in Total Drama Island, he doesn't get a whole lot of recognition. I really became a huge fan in the episode "Haute Camp-Ture" or "After the Dock of Shame" due to his sarcastic attitude. He had some of the best lines in the entire show and Carter Hayden, his voice actor, did a fantastic job. Unfortunately Noah didn't get any chance to shine in Season 2 with only one line in the entire season. So I'm really excited to what he might bring in Season 3.

Scooter (Spongebob Squarepants) - Most of you probably have no idea which character this is. His name was only mentioned once in "Spongebob's House Party" and he is basically a cameo character. You may know him better as the fish who died in the episode "Bubble Buddy" or the surfer dude with the distinct laugh who was easily amused by Spongebob's antics in "Ripped Pants." He doesn't get many lines but when he does, the makes great use of them with his great personality.

Gorgonzola (Chowder) - His the little mischievous character that is a rival to Chowder but not really. Because he and Chowder are both misfits and not very good at what they are usually trying to do. And they actually are friends even though neither of them knows it. I recognize him because he seems like a pointless character and one that doesn't make sense but is always important to the plot whenever he is in one. And it doesn't hurt to be funny either.

Sokka-Avatar the Last Airbender.
He may not have any powers but he's dang awesome.
He makes me laugh a lot and can kick butt without them.
Though some fans tend to think of him as useless just cuz he didn't have any powers :( Though at least they love him for his humor. He does have awesome moments in the finale too.

Joe-Digimon.
Poor, poor Joe. Always left behind by the fans and his group.
He can't help it if he's always in panic. He's just trying to help them, by watching out for them and stuff.

Brock-Pokemon.
Ouch Brock is a character hated by the Pokemon fandom.
He's always shoved in the background for Ash and Dawn.
Some times I think Brock is ok.

Tracey-Pokemon.
Well, I do like this guy more than Brock.
He didn't go all girl girl crazy every episode and still managed to cook and stuff that Brock did.
He was mature too.
 
All those millions of nameless, faceless soldiers, robots, monsters and so on that make up the large armies of action cartoons. Though they tend to suffer from Stormtrooper Syndrome and rarely get any kind of character development, sci-fi war just doesn't work without them.
 
That's one of the reason why it sucked when Road Rovers was cancelled after just one season: the show had plenty of potential of other members of the Road Rovers team outside of the main ones (as seen in the episode with the Star Rovers and the Dawn of the Groomer episode).

Makes you wish CN had picked up more episodes of that series when it began to air on that channel.
 
One of my favorite minor characters from King of the Hill was Connie Souphanousinphone. The only real attention they ever gave her was when she was dating Bobby. But there were so many other stories they could've done with her.
 
Scooter is one of my favorite background character's.

All he ever really does is hang out around town, laugh weirdly and say "dude". I think that's enough to gain him some fans though. Plus, he survived drowning from a high-tide.
 
I always liked Lolly Poopdeck from Flapjack myself. He's just so funny, happy and creepy looking. Truly one of my favorite characters in Flapjack. Also, how can you not like a guy called Lolly Poopdeck?

Also, I kind of like Conway from Pokemon as well, he's minor in the fact that he's only appeared in a few episodes, most of which are story based arcs like the Tag Battle and the Summer School. I just love his ability to come out of nowhere and creep people out.
