The Mentalist (Merged)

I'm afraid it hasn't grabbed me either. If as discussed on another thread, that Five may have got this as a replacement for House, It just doesn't cut the mustard. I just find it dull at the moment, and looks poor against Criminal Intent that follows it.

The Mentalist starts on Five, this Wednesday at 9pm. Who will be watching? It's been a big hit in the US achieving strong ratings and the show seems to have a good premise, so I'll definetly be watching :)

I'm still convinced he's RJ!! He was 'on vacation' when one attack happened and mysteriously back this week. Plus he'd have given Rebecca a job if she was his partner in crime. Oh and he'd have all the blurb on how close Bosco was getting to finding out more and could have then bumped him off (via Rebecca).

Fabulous start to the season. Well balanced mix of humour, conflict, and Jane's vulnerability and ruthlessness.

Loved the scene with Bosco particularly when Jane put his hand on Bosco's shoulder. Also loved it when Jane said to Lisbon that he had nothing else to do. And enjoyed seeing Cho and Jane's relationship developing more.

Am already looking forward to Ep 2.

Hi!

I've only started to watch The Mentalist recently, and I'm really enjoying it, but understand that this is series 2?

Does anyone know whether series one is repeated on any channel?

I'm also disappointed that they killed off Boscoe, as I was rather liking the little skirmishes between him and Jane!

I like the characters too, they are nicely drawn except for his boss (can't remember her name) who is a bit boring in comparison to everyone else. The plot I feel is fairly secondary, it's pretty bog standard procedural but it did have some nice twists in it.

There seems to be a big trend of Brits/Aussies playing Yanks in US TV series at the moment.

Was surprised that Rigsby was British, as I was to find that McNulty from the Wire was an Etonian.

Shame that with such a seemingly British production crew+ writer that the UK cant seem to make equally good tv series.

I have to admit I was also suprised to find out Rigsby was Welsh but it just made me love him more :p.

Was a little disappointed in the finale I'd got myself all hyped up and it just felt like any other episode in the end but I'm going to miss it SOOOOOO much now its gone :( I'll have to keep re watching this season. I did love the episode though totally loved the sky writing and the darker side to the episode.

Despite the endless round of tittering at the title actually really quite enjoyed it. if ep 2 is up to the same standard I think i've a new crime show to enjoy...

Oh come on. Every TV show has a theme of some sort, so you could could say any TV show is repetitive. The Mentalist is great entertainment.

My excuse is..I couldn't be bothered to read anyone else' posts :p:D

Not quite, a read a few, skimmed the rest then realised I ought to actually do some work before the office got busy :)

Why arent we discussing The Mentalist....?

I love this programme - he is my 3rd fav character after Dexter, Sylar.

I also love the suits he wears and that little grin of his :D

I agree - I love the Mentalist but struggled with Lie to Me. I didn't like the way they over explained everything like I was a 5 year old.

The Mentalist has it all for me - a little bit of romance going on (potentially) with Grace & Risby, Jane with his bizarre 'so why did you kill your daughter' virtual opening line in the first one and then just odd stuff like him buying Lisbon a pony!!

I guess we're all different though.
